And realizing that maybe it’s not the way we want to play or it wasn’t as clean as we would like. You go back and look at the chances [in Game 1]. It’s kind of an even game. Like, the whole thing was kind of even, it sits around the 50 percent mark. I just look at some of the crispness and the execution and the skating and the movements and the coverage. Not a lot, but there’s just things I felt like we could’ve done better that maybe could have pushed it in our direction. We had a lot of chances to score. I think we hit the post three times and a lot of point-blank chances, a couple on the power play, backdoor nets that were empty. There’s opportunities where we could’ve scored the one goal and it didn’t go. Execution on how we move out of the zone or through the neutral zone. Execution on the details of finishing." — Peter Laviolette said on what has made the team so resilient and his assessment of Game 1. Sharpshooter
This is kind of a must win game, so if you could kindly wake up for this series, that would be great.

Br4d
I think Laviolette is spooked by the idea of playoff OT. That best explains Rempe's absence recently. He doesn't play enough in the 1st and 2nd period and then in the 3rd he plays only with a big lead and in OT not at all. I'm not sure the Rangers are good enough to make Rempe optional in a very physical game. Yes, Chytil's minutes will be better and more numerous but if Bread and Mika vanish that's not a good trade-off.

Dem
Agreed, zero productivity/contribution x 0 = 0. Release the Rempe

RichieNextel305
First time maybe all season the Rangers are playing in a game they absolutely must have. Can make the case for a Game 6 in Carolina but even then, they had home ice to fall back on in a potential Game 7. Going to Florida down 0-2 would be a nightmare scenario.

I'm pretty sure they had to have Game 6 last series. And they went in and took it. They'll be fine.

RJWantsTheCup
The top 6 for these teams washes out. Series is going to be won by special teams, bottom six and goaltending.

All this chatter about lineups is hogwash to me. Just go out and play your game and you can beat anyone. Including the Panthers.
