Not really. If he plays relatively as good as he has been, even in his limited role he is going to make bank this off season. He will be just fine. Rangers lose a really good defenseman though.

Yes, but Gus has been great on the PP. To me, there's a real argument to not removing him just because Fox is back.

No. Miller's big stick (boy's soul) is worth more than Gustafsson's offense when Fox is out. He's not nearly worth as much to us when Fox is in the lineup playing on PP2/3rd pair as Miller is to the defensive core of this team.

There’s an argument, sure. Fox looked wasted in the playoffs last year.

10 games with Fox 12 for 37, 32.4%, 9 games with Gus 6 for 23, 26.1%

 

Gus had 1 point on PP2's only goal before Fox got hurt.  Fox had 9 points on PP1, Gus has 4.  Gus has been great filling in.  Fox is much better on the PP.
