He's older than Chytil.

Chytil is bigger though with the "tools" to succeed and sucks so maybe size and age dont necesarily equate to success.

Sign the kid, let him play in Hartford. Maybe he surprises everyone.

Exactly.  There's no harm in signing him and sending him to Hartford for an extended period to see how he adjusts to larger opponents.

I mean, he's a LW. If he wants to play in the NHL, go to Nashville, or really, anywhere but here. He has no realistic shot at playing in the NHL here.

This isn't the same as trying to have Laf switch sides.  As a small speedy pesky bottom sixer I'm sure he could play on the right.   The scouting report makes him sound like slightly shorter Tyler Motte.  Will have to see how his scoring translates.

Sure it is. It just matters less because he projects as a bottom-six player. Asking guys to move to their off-wing is always a challenge. Some rise to it, others can't. We have no idea if he can or not, but if his goal is to get to the NHL as fast as possible and he's more comfortable at LW, this isn't a great marriage.

While Trivigno might not be the best fit for us (though the point about off-wing in the bottom six being moderately less important is well-taken), this is the sort of move we should be mindful of in the future. It's how we reinforced not having draft picks in the middle of the 2010s when we were competing. We didn't hit on all of them, but we did a really good job poaching UDFAs or unsigned FAs from the NCAA.

Because he grew up a season ticket holder from Setauket.  Home town hero bro.

Meh. They said the same about the Mets with Matz, whom I.was assured was a rich kid, douchebag also from Setauket/Stonybrook AREA. LOL
