— Jimmy Vesey after his two-goal game against the Sabres
RodrigueGabriel Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 Thank God for this game. It will give me something to focus on other than premature election blather as results come in.
Giacomin Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 Gravesy, were we wrong about the Habs, so far. The only team where mgmt is in on an active tank is Detroit. Everyone else's mgmt is playing to win, so far. Also wrong about Domi, he's carrying this team and thriving under the pressure. Two bad years, many were ready to write him off as a good role player. Also may have been wrong that they were rushing Kot, he's hanging tough so far. Lots of wrong here, I gotta own up.. Glad Byron is out, though he (and Red Wing Athanasiou) can't seem to convert on their frequent breakaways. Seems like we could really use a guy with blazing speed, D, and a forecheck, like that. Yet the need for top-liners backburners this quickly. Shatty or Staal or McQuaid for Byron. They want to trade a forward and their group isn't bad. Good goalie, but they need D.
Kevin Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 Anytime I think about some of the bad contracts we've handed out over the years I look at Karl Alzner and think "ok, maybe it's not so bad".
ThirtyONE Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 But is Jimmy Vesey engaged? Christ. Who’d a thunk that might be an important element to playing an NHL game? Can’t wait for Roster Blowup Part II
Dunny Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 I think my Bantam Rep team had more beat reporters than the Rangers, there's essentially no Ranger news, ever.
Phil Posted November 6, 2018 Author Posted November 6, 2018 I think my Bantam Rep team had more beat reporters than the Rangers, there's essentially no Ranger news, ever. Yeah, they barely have anyone truly covering them at the moment. It's effectively Brooks and Carpiniello with Hartnett and Cyrgalis pitching in, but clearly not following the team.
Drew a Penalty Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 Yeah, they barely have anyone truly covering them at the moment. It's effectively Brooks and Carpiniello with Hartnett and Cyrgalis pitching in, but clearly not following the team. Stephenson is solid too. He normally gets stuff that the others don't. Just doesn't provide it in large quantity.
Phil Posted November 6, 2018 Author Posted November 6, 2018 Stephenson is solid too. He normally gets stuff that the others don't. Just doesn't provide it in large quantity. Ah, forgot about him, actually. Should add him to the GDT template.

Giacomin Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 Smith went off all weird Blocked a shot, he's good. He's been steady lately too. Good game for him so far. And Vesey keeps plowing away, nice work.
