Kevin
Interesting quote...I disagree with him though. And even if they did squeak in, they would have been obliterated by the likes of Tampa or Boston or Pitt or Washington...
paddynyc
Will the Rangers do one big "Thank you" for Giradi, McDonugh & Miller or one for each of them ?

Puck Head
I think they'd all deserve their own Miller doesn?t quite fall into the same category. Rangers such as miller come and go all the time (games played, production, etc) Sent from my iPhone using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
Gravesy
Interesting quote...I disagree with him though. And even if they did squeak in, they would have been obliterated by the likes of Tampa or Boston or Pitt or Washington... Have to agree here. I can’t see the pre-deadline roster reaching the level of Florida, Columbus and NJD. And even if they miraculously did they’d be no match for the teams they’d face in the first round. The rebuild was 100% the correct decision.
ThirtyONE
Interesting quote...I disagree with him though. And even if they did squeak in, they would have been obliterated by the likes of Tampa or Boston or Pitt or Washington... Exactly, and this was the problem. How many more years can you go down the same old track, barely getting in and getting embarrassed in the playoffs? I guess they could have done it for another 4 seasons until Hank retired but what is the point of that? As Gorton said, they're trying to win the cup, not just get in. The team that was constructed was not winning the cup. They peaked in 2014. Also, don't forget that before the letter came out, the Rangers won something like two games in regulation over a 2 month span. They were not good. I don't blame him, he got close twice and lost twice. He probably doesn't want to wait the 2-3 seasons before this team is ready to compete again. But of he thinks this team was playoff caliber...yea he's deluded.
