You want excitement, add chances, not goals on unscreened shots from the wing. Anyways, goals per game is higher than it's been since 2010-11 at 2.77. In 2010-11, it was 2.79. Also taking away goals because a guy's foot is on the right side of the blue line but still considered off sides because he is not touching the ice. That rule needs to change if they're going to keep going over it with a fine toothed comb. If any part of the body is still onside, touching the ice or not, it should be onside. I know they decided not to adopt that rule for the rest of this season but I hope they do it for next season. God forbid the Stanley Cup is won on a play like that and we have Brett Hull all over again because the refs don't wanna call it back in the middle of a celebration. The first was a clear off-sides that was challenged but still not overturned for some bizarre reason. Colorado, besides being really bad, can't catch a break either. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for missing plays in split seconds LIVE. But holy shit, if you're reviewing something and it's literally that blatant, there is NO excuse to miss that call. And yes, I'd love to start seeing linesmen and refs being held accountable for missing things like this. Also, if the NHL really wants to get these calls right, why doesn't Toronto step in here?
