Last time they brought in a veteran presence to help a young, very talented team? Don't remember that with Glass. Glass and Reaves is also a very bad comparison. Yes, they both like to fight, but that's also where the comparison between the two stops. Worst case scenario Reaves can't play hockey to save his life and he'll barely play. Rangers lost a 3rd round pick for a guy thats clearly teaching the young guys how to protect themselves. Its really hard to see where the problem here is. Do we value 3rd round picks this much now? We got a 4th for Howden ffs.

Yeah, I could see Bread take Strome's spot, Mika in the middle and Lundkvist on the left. The question is basically - will they continue with Strome on the PP as it has been working well for a couple years or if they go for some of the younger guys to take the last spot (Lundkvist, Lafreniere, Kravtsov, Kakko). Fox, Panarin, Mika is a lock and Kreider's spot as the net front is also safe for now (I can see a time in the future where Kakko or Krav takes that spot). Personally I would go: Kreids Panarin Mika Laf Fox Krav Lundkvist Kakko Strome Jones/Troubs/Miller

Most likely yeah, but its not normal with more than 3-4 rookies making the team anyway. For the future I think there's a lot of guys here that can make the team. Im not saying they will be stars, but we need bottom 6 and 3rd pair guys on the team aswell. Barron, Cuylle, Othmann, Henriksson, (Pajuniemi, Khodorenko, Lamb), Jones, Lundkvist, Robertson, Schneider, (Skinner, Reunanen) all have decent shots at making the NHL someday. Compare that to the development camps from 5-6 years ago and we've come a long way lol.

I love Zib, but he doesnt strike me as a typical Captain type. Liked by everyone and hella skilled, but I just feel like he's the person to not always say whats needed to be said in danger of "hurting" anyone. He's too kind I think. I've talked up Laf as Captain since we won the lottery basically, so I'll stick with that. C - Laf A - Trouba, Kreider Fox, Panarin and Zib are the stars, no need for them to "worry" about being C/A's, just play their game and do the talking on the ice.

Othmann above Kravtsov is a strange one. Or is he just basing this of the potential ceiling of these guys? One guy just got drafted and is still a long way away from the NHL, while Krav is ready for top 6 minutes next season. I guess he just looked at Krav's box-score because I think that's criminally low for him. His skating is definitely not "below-average".

Its a risk, but its not a huge one honestly. Carolina will be a playoff team, so its a late 1st and a 3rd for a one-year rental. Thats not so expensive for a middle-6 C with lots of potential that just had a really good playoff. And if he has a breakout season, well then they got a really good, young center for a 1st and a 3rd.

What do you mean by "these types of signings"? Now I've only followed this team for roughly 10 years, but I dont remember them signing anyone like Reeves that was a detriment to the team. We've signed shitty 4th liners that had no use/positive upside that got over-used by the coach, but in that case its the coach fault. Reeves has a "use-case" and as long as he's not being over-used Im strugling to see the problem here. We have a young, inexperienced team that's looking to make the playoffs for the first time in many years and then signing a 34 y/old with loads of experience to play 8-10 minutes is a bad thing? And if he barely can skate and dont know how to play hockey as some people here have been saying, im sure Gallant will see that. If not he's as bad as AV and Quinn, and then we have a problem way bigger than Reeves.

Nah this is a great deal for Carolina. Svech is awesome, probably my favourite non-Ranger playing in the Metro. 103 points in his last 123 games, 20 points in 26 playoff games and still only 21 years old. Svechnikov will be a star in this league for a long time. Having him locked in at under 8 mill is amazing.

And I've never said Reeves will deter Wilson from anything, because Wilson is a man with serious problems, but it still helps the team to have a dude like him on the team, there's no denying that. Who won that series doesnt really have anything to do with who's most badass, so that's really irrelevant.

Yup. In a normal world where Barca and RM aren't broke he would already be in Spain (most likely in Madrid). With that said, (with no bias whatsoever) I take Haaland over Mbappe every day of the week and I think Madrid is thinking the same.
