  1. Oooo, Kings rematch would be fun, especially with Quick in the mix.
  2. Would love to see more of him, but on the LW seems like you have to relegate either him or Cuylle to the 4th line, which isn't ideal. Wish one of them could switch to RW. Those 2 on the same line with a decent center would be fun to watch.
  3. Those current trades make me throw up in my mouth a little........
  4. Not that I track this a lot, but doesn't this seem like an extra-long time to recover from a concussion? I realize it's like his 4th or 5th, but is this typical?
  5. Those stripes on the arm are killing me. Meh.........
  6. There was a thread the other day about which player has surprised people the most thus far, and I picked Laf. But if the question would've been much broader, like "what has surprised you the most about this years Rangers team", I easily would've went with coaching. From our faceoff dominance, to a clear defensive structure (I think we're like 3rd or 4th in that department?), to special teams.......it had been an absolute treat to watch them play this year. Sure, there's still times where they start flailing around in the D zone and just trying to chip the puck out that makes me cringe, and there's still work to be done when it comes to playing a full 60 minutes that need to be fixed. But overall, when they're on, it's exciting to watch. Crisp passes out of the zone, more shots on goal, when they drop back into the 1-3-1 defensive scheme, all of it. And the best part is that Lav, for the most part, KEEPS THE LINES TOGETHER!!! That drove me nuts for the past few coaches, the constant line juggling.
  7. I have to say Laff. As much as we all wanted him to step up, I don't think anyone expected what he's done so far. And watching him skating around like a cannonball and hitting guys last night made me giddy.
  8. When Fox comes back, knowing how serviceable Gus has been filling in, do you shake up the defensive pairings? Do you keep Fox/Lindgren, but maybe look at Gus on the 2nd pair? Or do you keep him 3rd pair with Schneider & lessen his TOI? I know it's recency bias, but he's looked more than good filling in, almost seems a waste on the 3rd pair. Just looking for opinions really.
  9. I would totally be okay with this, been pushing to try breaking up Kreid/Zib since the start of last season. And that 3rd line makes me tingly......
  10. I am all aboard the Cuylle Train. Love the way this kids plays.
  11. Just thinking the same thing - Wheeler on that 1st line is worth a shot. Maybe he can set up Mika, or throw shots at the net for Kreids to scoop in......dunno, anything to get them going. Also not a fan of Bonino on the 3rd line, he's too slow and I think Goody would've been a better anchor for Kakko & Cuylle, in terms of slightly more energy & speed.
  12. Was just thinking the same - Chytil out is a huge hit. Tro-Panarin do not work, I would imagine even more so with the scheme Lavvy has them playing. Your backups are......Goodrow and Brodz? Not confidence-inspiring at all.
  13. Agreed, liking the lines and the fact that Lavi isn't throwing them into a blender every period like GG was fond of. Give them time to develope chemistry.
  14. I just want him in period. I know it's only 3 games, but I felt like he played better than either Bonino or Pitlick in the 1 game he played. I never thought I'd be rooting for a Vesey sighting but here we are..........
  15. I'm not really for or against Kane. A little hesitant because of his injury & recovery, but I also absolutely am not a fan of Wheeler. I'm just having a hard time figuring out A) where do you slot him in, and B) where do you move the player who just lost their spot to him? What does a Rangers/Kane lineup look like?
  16. Honestly, I don't even know where you'd slot him in. Kakko is doing fine & needs room to grow, Laff has been........better than expected. Wheeler does nothing for me, but at that price tag it's ok. I can't see bringing in Kane just to move one of those 3 to 4th line.
  17. A key stat I don't think I've seen from a Rangers team in what feels like forever - we were 63% on faceoffs. That's huge.
  18. Got my whiskey, a good cigar, and I'm ready for all 5 phases that come with a Rangers game - 1 - excitement ("LFGR!" - pregame) 2 - optimism ("they look good!" - 1st period) 3 - bewilderment ("what was that??" - 2nd period) 4 - anger - ("what. The actual. Fuck?" - 3rd period) 5 depression - ("this season's already over" - post game) LFGR!!!
  19. Sadly, going with 3. Not sure what this says about me or faith in the team early on.
