Namestnikov would have been crazy to argue over 500K when he produced on 4 points in 19 games for his new team. Trouba's contract looked bad from the start, and is not looking good at all now. The guy lacks creativity and looks like a stiff out there. I would be surprised if he ever has another 50 point season. Smart thing to do would be to move his big contract while he has value and while his NMC did not kick in.

Ballsy Predictions - 2020 Playoffs Edition

definitely Gettinger. He should have made the Rangers full time. -
to be fair Lundqvist was our 3rd best goalie and he should not have played in the playoffs, likely they are just trying to get him to call it quits instead of buying him out. Also Carolina made like 3 trades to improve their team going into the playoffs, while Rangers weakened themselves by trading away Skjei and Namestnikov, losing Lias Andersson and acquiring only Gauthier.

I am not trying to make him a scapegoat, but he was brought here to develop a young team and roll 4 lines, not play McKegg, Fogarty, Haley, etc. over young promising players. -

JD and Gorton agree that the Quinn/rookie coach experiment is over, time to get a coach that can win a Cup. -
Both games we got badly outshot. Only positives I can think of are Gauthier, Howden and Kakko are playing solid and not showing any jitters. Is Quinn the right coach to take this team to the next level? I don't think so. Hire Peter Laviolette while he is available. And what kind of coach says after 1 playoff game that he felt like his team played "too physical"? No such thing as too physical in the playoffs. What a loser mentality to hold back the physicality.

Not happy with the decisions they made in the playoffs. 1. Lundqvist was outplayed all season long by the 2 young goalies, why did they decide to kiss Lundqvist's ass and start him in both playoff games? Is it to make it easier for him to retire from NHL after this? 2. Fast is out and they decide to give playoff experience to Fogarty instead of Kravtsov or Gettinger? Our bottom lines are literally made up of Carolina's rejects McKegg, Di Giuseppe, and Gauthier. Why did they never address the 4th line and just mostly rolled 3 lines most of the season. Only thing can save this team is Shesterkin comes back from his mystery injury and wins 3 straight. Quinn is a likable coach, but he easily gets out coached by top tier coaches.
