  1. Now watch them pat themselves on the back after a good period fall asleep in the 2nd and get scored on.
  2. I hope they play well for Shesterkin. Do we know what was wrong with him? Fun day today as a tree fell on my car.
  3. Wasn't Quinn brought in to be a puck possession coach to stop all the dump and chase nonsense? What happened to that?
  4. I am absolutely discomfortable with Lundqvist remaining as a backup. And why is Georgiev completely disrespected, he played most of the games for us this season he is a very good goalie.
  5. well no, you want the team to surprise you in the playoffs and make you see that they are on the right path and have bright future ahead of them.
  6. because the playoffs finally happened for us and the team looked pretty embarrassing.
  7. Honestly I am worried about the lack of production from Chytil, Kakko, Kravtsov, Gauthier, Howden, Lias, etc.
  8. After this season ends I think it is the right thing to do is trade away Strome if we can get a late 1st rounder for him and Trouba if we can get mid 1st rounder or late 1st rounder + in return. But after a bad playoff I have a feeling JD and Gorton panic and make several very bad trades. Smith, if doesn't improve is looking like a good candidate to get bought out.
  9. so according to Quinn it is not his system, it is the players and their effort. His system is totally fine, the other coach is totally not outcoaching him...
  10. I said "you have to trade away players" before they start breaking down and falling apart it is a win win to trade them when the time is right.
  11. good point, I guess I meant before the Shesterkin car accident. We showed very strong offense, I expected them to be able to tighten up the defense in the playoffs but having potent offense and PP was importand, but looks like it did not translate to playoffs.
  12. Klein was very good too, but that is what happens you have to trade away players, because if you hang on to them you end up with buyouts like Girardi. Carolina seems to not be shy about trading away the Dmen like Hanifin, De Haan, Faulk, etc.
  13. they were out of playoffs for like 9 straight seasons, they have accumulated a lot of prospects, and draft picks during that time. During that time one of their players has retired, then became their assistant coach for 7 years and is now their head coach for 2nd year. this is only 3rd year in a row that they made the playoffs(and there was a good chance they could have missed the playoffs this season) so they are about 2 to 4 years ahead of us.
  14. The way we played at the end on the season we definitely deserved to be in the playoffs. what we got in the playoffs so far is very mediocre goaltending and a team that is not playing like they were playing at the end of the season.
  15. we disbanded our defense, it used to be great too. Soon it will be great again with Miller, Robertson, ADA, Fox, Lindgren, Lundkvist, etc.
  16. Quinn thought that "Hank was solid"!?! Yikes, does he understand that the goaltending has to be great in the playoffs, not just solid?
  17. I think Carolina is similar to Rangers but they are a bit further along the rebuild cycle. But they still have a lot of great prospects, even though they unloaded a bunch of depth, picks and prospects.
  18. but how do you know that if we had a coach like Laviolette (for example) those players wouldn't have much better stats by now?
  19. only positive in all of this is the end of the "False King" Saga. I am really starting to believe that the players play better, calmer and smarter when it is not Lundqvist in net. He makes them nervous both because he gives up bad goals and because he gets angry at them.
  20. I rather go to arbitration that grossly overpay players or sign them to a very long high salary contract which is very likely to bite us on the ass in few years.
  21. I wouldn't call Mrazek a journeyman goalie. Our 3rd and 4th lines are pretty much a non-threat, that was the point with Namestnikov as well as I was saying that Carolina improved their roster with trades while we mostly weakened ours.
