  1. could the Wild go after Lundell at #9 or 10? As the passing of the torch with Koivu? That could be a big blow to the Rangers
  2. if the Draft is in October that means all the European leagues seasons would have already started? That means all these "final" prospect rankings are not really final?
  3. On another board many wanted to trade up to get Lundell when we were expected to draft around 15th. I was not crazy about that idea. But if we are drafting 11th I think I go with Lundell, I actually wouldn't mind trading down a bit to get an early 2nd rounder.
  4. First time I hear that Quinn is a power forward. Lundell is more of a power forward. A big 2 way center is exactly what we need and exactly what we hoped out of Lias but did not get. Liiga still better than CHL. And again just like with Reichel I think Lundell has good hockey IQ.
  5. Lemieux is fine re-sign him long term like 4 year like 1.5 mil per he is a good 4th liner that can move up if needed and can play special teams.
  6. If Penguins are looking to improve their Defense, how about Trouba for Poulin + 3rd/2nd rounder?
  7. The highest Jarvis is ranked is at #11 by Future Considerations: https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/201952/seth-jarvis on top of that he is a RW. So if Kakko and Kravtsov are here where does Jarvis fit in in the future? They are all close in age. Rossi's size is the typical undersized, while Caufield's is critically undersized where you have to question if he will be able to have success in NHL. Quinn is another RW, also going from 13 goals to 52 makes me a bit nervous and skeptical, also at that level I prefer players have higher assist to goals ratio. Why you don't like Lundell?
  8. There is a huge difference in size between Rossi and Caufield. If Rossi's age is a concern then same applies for about 20+ other 1st rounders in this year's first round. Jarvis at 11 would be a little disappointing to say the least. Quinn, I am not sure what should I be impressed about 50 goals on a loaded team? Furthermore he was on same team as Rossi and their PPG numbers aren't even close. If you want a goal scorer with Amazing shot check out Foerster.
  9. with our luck Rangers draft Amirov or Gunler at #11
  10. From most rankings I saw it doesn't look like Rossi or Holtz are getting out of top 10 and Lundell is ranked higher than Jarvis. https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/360145/anton-lundell Quinn is ranked higher than Lundell on some rankings, but I am not sold on him, and probably neither are many scouts: https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/336828/jack-quinn
  11. that is fine. Who you think they will draft at 10 or 11?
  12. rumors and common sense (Rangers heavily scout Swedes/Finns)
  13. maybe hockey sense/IQ? 17 years old playing against men put up 24 points, I think his game will translate well to NHL, I think he will look good both on PK and PP. 0 penalty minutes in 42 games? not bad.
  14. The reason to make this trade is because Quinn doesn't seem comfortable with Gauthier and also LW is a bigger need for us than RW.
  15. It could be worth it exploring a trade to move up and taking Rossi.
  16. Quality of lineup sure is a factor, but so is the quality of coaching staff and system. People seem to always ignore that factor and just blame the players only.
  17. isn't he under contract with Rangers? Will he come here when the KHL season over?
  18. pretty sure that is not the order that Rangers draft team has.
  19. I am pretty sure that the Wild or the Predators will win the lottery the highest the Wild ever picked was 3rd overall and Predators 2nd overall and both in their expansion years. So looks like Rangers will draft Lundell after all? That seems to be their target. no need to trade up to get him.
  20. tough choice, I guess they should let him see what he gets offered on the market he does deserve to get paid. If nobody is offering him a big contract then maybe offer him a 1 to 3 year deal.
  21. just like players who can step up or disappear in the playoffs, same thing goes for coaches. You got your Tampa coach that has amazing seasons but chokes in the playoffs and you got Brind'Amour that surprises teams in the playoffs. Our coaching staff choked so far. In 3 games we really didn't come close to winning any of them. Let's assume it was bad luck and very small sample size. we will see how they fare next season or weather they even make the playoffs. But not every offseason you have several top of the line proven NHL coaches available. Let Quinn keep trying to win on the AHL level in Hartford.
  22. he produced plenty, but whenever he coughed up the puck everybody would be all over him, including the coaches. That is why he couldn't get consistent top line minutes. I think similar thing happened to him in Tampa, the coaches eventually demoted him to 2nd/3rd line.
