  1. One gets quite excited reading all of this positive news. [emoji16]
  2. Glad you mentioned STR on the softs...something amiss for sure. BOT was literally going backwards on those shoes.
  3. When LEC had that incident on the first lap I told my son that he came into the corner a bit too hot and the overtake was a risk that failed. He didn?t see it that way but the replay confirmed it. Could he have been given I little room into the apex? Ok. But everyone is looking for that same advantage. This gamble wasn?t smart.
  4. Agree with everything said above by all. This season has delivered some good racing and fan excitement. This race added to that run of fun. RUS was amazing through qualifying and the race was looking to be a storybook in the making. Toto is going to kick some behind-the-scenes ass! Radio failure? IDK. I think the team was napping and the call to box both cars caught everyone. Why take the pit stop risk? Tires were right to finish the race and they had pace and time gaps to the rest of the field to just go to the end. Then the tire puncture - that?s the gremlin of F1. Ugh! Glad for a safe race after watching last week?s spectacle. GRO released a video statement saying he?s done for the year. I get that. Had he been fighting for a championship maybe a different decision. Yeah, I wish HAM good health but I really want to see RUS get another drive with MB this season.
  5. SHU solidified his credentials by winning the F2 championship and that should shut down any talk of him getting promoted to F1 'because of his father.' That a bogus claim. I have not watched today's race yet since my son is working but we plan on catching the DVR later. RUS did a magnificent job and I was hoping he'd take pole - man what a performance! Sparks the convo about skill v. car or is it both? There is a ratio in there somewhere but a strong argument can be made that superior equipment helps. In my limited motorcycle racing experience, I took a friends bike out for a track loop - his was a higher HP model with a tweaked suspension - I was able to do things unimaginable on my bike and made me realize that I had to work so hard just to keep up. In endurance racing that's not good. LEC absolutely deserves a beer for P4. Hoping he stands on the podium along with VER and RUS...in that order. :D
  6. MLS players are given time to join USMNT (Aaron Long/Kyle Duncan - both prime defenders on our squad) recently went to play a friendly. Sure, our MLS season is over now so it did not have an impact, but earlier in the season when we were playing, Kaku left to play in World Cup qualifying games and missed an important game for us...two games actually because in one of them he sat on the bench. I'd enjoy seeing the NHL think beyond the norm and expand the league to Europe or beyond. Sending a team from the USA to play an extended road trip of say 12-14 days would be a great way to grow the game. Financially? Make those Euro teams pay a 'playing fee' to participate as they ramp up to become fully recognized league teams. Part of the playing fee can be apportioned to their buy-in payment to become a full NHL franchise. This is simplified here, but there is a way to do this with forethought.
  7. While soccer is intensely physical at times, hockey has that component on every shift so the ?potential? for injury is greater, I think. I?m troubled when my soccer players go play international games when we?re in the middle of playoffs. Disparage MLS all you want but it?s something I pay into as a fan to support and I want my guys winning here, now. I agree that the NHL does look far past USA/Canada borders to grow the game and they should model the NBA and NFL to a greater degree. They?ve been heading there but not enough.
  8. NYR taking a huge beating on Twitter right now. I'd like to see him play as much as the next guy, but pandemic got me thinking - "Stay home bud and stay well."
  9. Come back to earth indeed. He?s been posting on Twitter that he?s ?ready to debut in Bahrain if needed.? Seems a bit too eager. I get the excitement for next year but you?re right, ?Keep your head down son.?
  10. Good little chat with Gunther and about half way through he talks about GRO possibly racing this year.
  11. BREAKING: Mick Schumacher to race in F1 in 2021! The 21-year-old signs with @HaasF1Team
  12. A brief look at the 'outer' circuit at the end of this Ferrari promo: https://www.ferrari.com/en-EN/formula1/articles/2020-sakhir-grand-prix-preview
  13. Thx for the support but there are plenty who will disagree. I wasn't in the Garden in '94 but have attended some playoff games in recent years and distinctly remember the loud craziness v. CAPs. Yeah, when we're in the thick of it, the fans get loud. Regular season? Not so much I'm afraid to say. We don't have the consistency of 'loudness' that we once had from the Blue Seat Brigade. Loyalty? Yes, hands-down the best fans. Look at us at BSBH, after all the years of disappointment and getting kicked in the balls, we still support the boys no matter what.
  14. Imagine qualifying for a moment if it turns out RUS P1 and BOT P2...
  15. 50G - Amazing. Mercedes will be without Lewis Hamilton for this coming weekend?s Sakhir Grand Prix in Bahrain after the seven-time world champion tested positive for Covid-19. Hamilton needs a negative test before being allowed to return to the paddock, and therefore remains a doubt for the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi. https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/article.breaking-hamilton-ruled-out-of-sakhir-grand-prix-after-testing-positive-for.43GvWfdyvajkyisofT26LX.html
  16. LMAO - yeah that was great. We met Dan after a game at MSG for autographs and I was struck by his lack of height and slight build. Not a big guy by any means but his attitude made up for it...and those fists.
  17. I watched late last night...oof! Glad GRO survived. The STR roll-over shows that the HALO may need a bit more height because he could barely climb out. ARMCO has some 'splaining to do IMO. How is it that the barrier design allowed a car to pierce it the way it did? Reminiscent of the Kubica crash even though that one happened at a different angle. ALB was lucky too, not only from his crash but with a podium result due to good driving and Perez's motor expiration. Back at the same track next week, right? Slightly new configuration or will it be the same?

  19. Back at you Oz...and to the rest of the gang here. Always fun and good times talking NYR. Enjoy!
