  1. My uncle had a library full of horror movies - he loved them and the occult, tarrot cards and anything with black magic. Naturally, when I'd sleep over his house as a youngster of 7-9 years old, he'd ask if I want to watch "Chiller Theater" or one of his Beta tape movies always prefacing it with, "But you won't get scared, right?" Creature from the Black Lagoon was my weak spot! At the end of the movie I had to walk alone to the other end of the house and my grandmothers room where I slept and I flew down that hall -- I mean like at 100 M.P.H. LOL
  2. 3 years of 'no interest' money amounts to a lot of money. The larger issue is guaranteed monies for 2020-21 at 72 percent of face-value pay versus now seeking 55.5 percent. THAT'S a lot of money to give up. An earlier post lead to an article stating that it is estimated that teams lose $1.5M per game in lost gate ticket sales, food concession, etc., so you can begin to understand the shortfall all around. The question becomes; Who is better able to weather this financial storm? Please figure this out amicably so we can have a season to look forward to.
  3. *thumbs* I want my team to beat the best on their way to a Cup. Not looking for an easier path so it can be thrown back in our face when we win. Win like our '94 team either decisively or with formidable come-back ability...you just knew that team was in a position to win any game - they had heart and skills.
  4. Super dumb post by the podcast guy. Could he be more insensitive to reality? I have the coffee on my shopping list. Looking forward to trying it out.

  6. Understanding that a good portion of NHL revenue comes from seat sales I understand why they?re asking. A ?mixed? in-person season v. TV-only would certainly hurt season ticket holders. I have season tix to Red Bulls soccer and this past year they allowed us to roll-forward our subscription in the event there were no in-person games allowed. (There was a pre-pandemic game we went to in early March that took one game off our yearly subscription.) They rolled the game credits forward as each home game date came and went without being able to attend. It would have been a cluster if they were able to limit attendance while not offering the credit because we didn?t go...but that issue never became a reality.
  7. I received a couple of calls and emails last week from a MSG ticket sales agent asking if I will attend games in 2021 then wondering if I'd like to put a deposit down on a ticket package. Right this moment, I'm leaning 95% against attending games assuming that we will have a good vaccine and that the season goes into May/June. To me, it's just too soon to feel comfortable being inside a building with 18,000+ screaming fans. If "2021" implies the start of the following season and will I attend next Oct/Nov/Dec? Yeah, that is likely. How about you? What are you thinking about going to MSG? Would it make a difference if they seriously discount the tix? (BTW - there was no mention of a discount now)
  8. Figure out a way to say "bye" and get younger at that position likely saving a lot more money too.
  9. Watched the entire race again, with my son this time. It was just as good as seeing it the first time. VET showing sportsmanship at the end was great too.
  10. That Liberty logo with the pointed head crown is one of the best designs in sports IMO. Who gets credit for the original concept? Buy them some beers!
  11. Ahhhhhm okay - thx Morphinity. I was thinking that someone might have really screwed-up with tire pressure over inflation but this ends that theory.
  12. Back to STR for a minute...after his pit stop he was complaining that his new tires were graining almost immediately and had no grip. That?s when his voice was nearly squeaking over the radio and you knew he lost composure. So what happened there? Other guys on Inters were going quickly and having a pretty good time.
  13. VET showed experience and patience. That first stint where he frustrated a following HAM was fun. LEC took a gamble and was not rewarded. Smart? Dumb? I?m 50-50 ?cause I really like the kid. Well, 40-60 thinking about it. VER digressed and showed us signs of his former impatient self. I?m certain he is not pleased with his approach and the result. BOT was like the commercial ?I?ve fallen and can?t get up.? Worst I?ve seen from him. Honorable mentions: Did RIC race today? What the heck? ALB not endearing himself despite showing promise. STR? He just lost himself after that pit stop. Like we said, a great race for fans. More new paving, please!
  14. After a poor start...for my DVR - it never recorded this morning - I had to wait for the replay at 3:30 then watch after dinner. Well worth the wait and I agree, we needed a race like that this season. Karan nailed all my thoughts about what happened. I found myself actually happy for HAM at the end. His emotion, real emotion I think, got me thinking that he isn?t such a dick after all. (Quali was just wild.)
  15. Good for her. A life-long commitment to ?make it? has finally paid off. Good luck. (But not more than my Mets.) [emoji4]
  16. West Point seats are $10 for bench-style and $12 with a seat back. LOL
  17. I?m just about getting back to normal blood pressure...don?t get me riled up about K right now Oz. Since he?s on our squad I?ll give him the customary 15-20 games before calling him out or patting him on the back.
  18. Once Ovie learned to play at both ends of the rink he won me over. Remember those early years of him loafing around the blue line looking for a breakout pass like a spoiled talent on a high school team? Glad he moved past that and became what we all (now) like about his game.
  19. If only Smith consistently played with the snarl and physicality we?ve occasionally seen.
  20. Congrats and good luck for many healthy and happy years together.
