  1. Fantastic seeing Isles go down. Yes!!!!! Ryan Thornton-beard McD playing in his second Cup finals - nice.
  2. Taking games off? He does that? *sarcasm* Maybe, just maybe, the "C" would be a motivation to step up regularly. I would not be disappointed if he became our Captain but over Zib? IDk about that.
  3. Heading to the second OT tied 1-1. Very entertaining first OT where either team could have scored.
  4. I don't know if I can add another disappointing team...my stomach hurts enough. *sighs*
  5. Way back when, you could buy a 'lifetime' subscription for the car. I think I paid a 1-time fee of $320 or so and kept the car ten years. The next guy will get SIRIUS forever too. (They don't offer that any more. I asked.) As for the thread premise? What would I NOT buy? Geez IDK. I could easily spend $100Million in a month between property, cars, a boat and a NetJet account...farg this is tough. I wouldn't buy fruitcake ever. Yup! I really don't like it. NOTE: We did a auction liquidation for a Lotto Winner years ago as he slid into bankruptcy. Multiple high-end motorcycles for him and his buddies (entourage) to tool around with. I guess he thought he could just stay on permanent vacation with his friends but he ran out of money. Nope, $3,000,000 does not go too far.
  6. Kreider is definitely a mental thing IMO. Buch is a bit too timid too often. We saw a little bit in the second season where he played with more grit and determination. Hoping that is his new M.O.
  7. I've grown into the hybrid sound but truly miss the primal scream of old - that snarl was downright scary. Maybe it's just my bias. When I was younger I raced high RPM enduro bikes and loved that sound and when the 4-strokes became popular with that low growl, I was not a fan. It was a totally different riding style that I just had trouble adapting to. That said, I saw Formula-e in Brooklyn a couple of years back and that sound was awful, irritating even. Then my son and I went to race e-Karts and while not as whinny, they were fun as all heck to drive. All of the power all of the time! My other son works for a fund that saw one of their investment units partner with Fiskar in order to help finance their rollout of a new SUV (Ocean) for around $40,000. No sales just a pretty cool lease program with 30,000 miles annually. I'm prodding my wife to consider one as our first venture into electric. https://www.fiskerinc.com/ocean/
  8. RIC deserved a podium because he can always manage tires until the end. ALB also deserved his today since his string of bad luck. Well-worth getting up for that one - yes, quite entertaining. I stayed with the broadcast post-race and during the Renault interview, RIC said he would definitely like to come back to this venue.
  9. Oh-boy! New (and beautiful) track brought all kinds of chaos. Feel for VER who launched well then got drilled. LEC needs a competitive car. Geez.
  10. HAM BOT VER LEC made it to the top 10 at least. I?m guessing VET will want to finish the year as best he can. Doubt he throws it away to be spiteful. Driving on the knife?s edge like LEC? Probably not but not making it to Q3? There?s more to it.
  11. I hear you man! My first encounter with my auction work was in front of about 30 people waiting for me to 'break in' so we could show the home. I opened the screen door and the nest was the size of a pizza box and they got pissed quickly. I managed not to get stung and closed the door fast. I used to have the usual RAID spray but that's crap. I buy this die-electric stuff from Home Depot by the case. It shoots 20-feet and they are done instantly. I've learned three things: 1) bees get angry fast, 2) wasps are already angry and 3) hornets are the fucking worst - they are in full-on pissed mode all of the time. Don't frig' with them.
  12. I was feeding my youngest son in his highchair when it went down. My dad called me and said turn on the radio (we had no TV at the time) and I listened to Stern and NewsRadio88 all day. I recall a strong sense of wanting to get into my car and drive down to NYC, abandon my car on the west side and go help in any way. But that was impossible with a young tike at home with me. My cousin worked near the pile as a NJ State Trooper and i work with a NY State Trooper today who was relocated to lower Manhattan from his usual duty along the Northway in the Adirondacks. He told me so much about the weeks he was there and how solemn the work was performed...and so many bodies removed. RIP everyone who died. I hope the families have found peace.
  13. Bees. I was stung as a kid and never quite got over it...along with a fear of needles. Now, my work with foreclosed homes sees me opening screen doors and windows that have been shut for years and there are always hives to deal with. Just this week, I came across 2 homes that have very active hives (dangerously large ones) embedded in the wall through a rotted window frame. The 'flight path' in and out of that house that I watched from a safe distance was awe inspiring. I've overcome the fear now because I've had to.
  14. Wondering if anyone has tried these street or ice hockey skates from MarsBlade? When I was about 14-15 years old (1973-74), our local Pepsi distributor sponsored a summer hockey program where we were given inline skates to wear but could not take home. Each week they'd distribute the skates then take then back again for review. It only ran one summer and it was years later that I began to see inline skates in stores. These skates portend to have a better feel similar to an ice skate experience. https://www.marsblade.com/flow-motion-technology
  15. Farg! I thought I was posting in the Libor thread. :wtf:
  16. Keep working kid and rack up some experience -- along with a few goals please.
