  1. With news of Tank turning down all those offers and firing his agent, trade Goodrow... Laf - Zib - Kakko Panarin - Chytil - Tank Kreider - Trocheck - Wheeler Cuylle/Pitlick - Bonino - Vesey
  2. I mean neither did any other GM. He's almost 24. He's not a 4th liner. He's not a better option than Vesey or Goodrow for the 3rd line. There's nothing there.
  3. A game plan eliminates thinking. Everyone has a designated place to go. You can move the puck and get to the next spot faster. If there's no plan, you have to hold onto the puck too long (Panarin curls too much!) and look for an open teammate. This slows down your attack and allows the defense to close on you. This is where the majority of the turnovers came from. Zib isn't slow, Chytil isn't slow, Kreider isn't slow, Trocheck isn't slow, Miller isn't slow, Schneider isn't slow. Tell these guys where to go, tell their linemates where to go, and they'll be able to move the puck and play much faster.
  4. A - You'd need to pay Nemeth's replacement. Tinordi got sent down and Hajek was the 7th D. Hunt played 76 games @ a $762k cap hit. You have 4 whoever's in your lineup, who are you signing that's better than Hunt? B - Kadri wasn't a FA until after Nemeth was traded. They couldn't afford Buch @ $5.8 million when they traded him. They couldn't afford Kadri when he was a FA. Trocheck is younger, cheaper, and out produced Kadri.
  5. Kadri and Buch in place of Trocheck and Goodrow is an extra $3.4 million against the cap. How is that supposed to work?
  6. Seems like your knock against Drury is repeating that he hasn't moved players with NMCs since you can't point to a bad move or signing.
  7. They're not slow. They played slow because they had to think too much. That's been addressed. Even if the kid line stays together, EV TOI is already pretty even. There's room to adjust the PP units to get them more opportunities. I wouldn't mind: CK Zib - Chytil - Kakko Fox Laf Panarin - Trocheck - Wheeler Jones/Gustavsson/Miller Use both units. You can load up if you need to situationally. Cuylle has a shot to make the team and out play Pitlik. Jones will have a shot to make the team. Robertson isn't good enough. Othmann will be better off with a year in the A, but if he plays well enough there’s room for him to earn a spot.
  8. A show me contract? He has 65 goals and 142 points in his last 149 games. I don't know what Trotz's plan is unless he thinks he can land some big UFAs.
  9. Time to retire the Believe reaction for this one.
  10. Who's their 3C? If they do resign Matthews, are they gonna resign 34 year old Tavares? Chytil would give them a 3C now and a 2C when Tavares is gone.
  11. Trocheck/Panarin will be fine when they have a game plan and know what the other is going to do. Now add a 40 goals scorer to their line. CK - Zib - Kakko looked great, they just didn't score as much as they should have. +4 in goals, 58.2 SF%, 58.3 CF%. Swapping Domi in for Chytil doesn't impact the center depth. Soft is a buzzword that gets thrown around too much. Nylander has 12 goals and 25 points in his last 25 playoff games. He's a playoff performer.
  12. BTW next summer you can trade Trouba and Kreider to resign Nylander. Will Smith makes the team after a year at BC. He can play wing as a rookie or Domi can move to wing. The year after you can trade Tro and Smith is your 2C.
  13. BTW next summer you can trade Trouba and Kreider to resign Nylander. Will Smith makes the team after a year at BC. He can play wing as a rookie. The year after you can trade Tro and Smith is your 2C.
  14. I disagree, currently ~$11 mill in cap space. Move out Chytil and Laf and bring in Nylander is essentially a wash. Halak for a mill. Cuylle, JBrod, and Jones on to the roster is 2.4 mill. Say 4 for Miller. That leaves you with 3.6ish. You can go bargain basement to find a RW for the 4th line for a Brett Ritchie, Josh Leivo, Tyler Pitlick type guy. That leaves you about 2.8. From here you can still trade Goody, which I would if....(This one is for @The Dude) you Can sign Domi for 4 or less. Then utilize Othmann. That gives you: CK - Zib - Kakko Panarin - Tro - Nylander Othmann - Domi - Vesey Cuylle - Jbrod - Cheap RW4 and leaves you $1.5 in cap space just needing a 13th forward. Depending on price you might be able to replace Cheap RW4 with Hathaway.
  15. Done deal. Replace Trouba with a $5 million dollar guy and use the extra to resign Nylander.
  16. I'd do it if Will Smith is there at 5. Then work a Nylander deal around Chytil.
  17. That's what the Rangers did from 2005 to 2017. They played in the 2nd most playoff games during that time. Had the 6th most playoff wins. Unfortunately, they weren't able to win it, but hey, winning the cup is hard. It also left us with no picks and no farm system.
  18. Tampa over pays for those players. Acquiring that group cost them 5 first round picks. Plus two prospects they picked in the first round. In the last 8 years they had 1 first round picks and they traded away 3 of those prospects. They don't pick this year until the 6th round. They have no 1st or 2nd round pick in 2024. They sold their soul for this window. It will be ugly when its over.
  19. Cool. The point is great goal scorers are extremely rare. That shouldn't detract for the very good goal scorers we have.
  20. BTW, in my chart, they are both tied for 20th at .42 gpg. .43 gpg goes up to 16th. To say they aren't 2 of the top goal scorers in the league since Zib got here is disingenuous. To think that guys they score 40 goals a year for a decade straight grow on trees and the Rangers somehow failed for not having one is an unrealistic expectation.
  21. Igor. They gave up tons of high danger chances and only scored on the power play. What exactly about their play makes it seem like they had any sort of cohesive plan that they worked on?
  22. Zib and Kreider are both top 20 in the league in goals per game over the last 7 years, but sure they suck if you have unrealistic standards. https://www.nhl.com/stats/skaters?report=scoringpergame&reportType=season&seasonFrom=20162017&seasonTo=20222023&gameType=2&filter=gamesPlayed,gte,100&sort=goalsPerGame&page=0&pageSize=50
  23. Read through the thread. They barely practiced. Gallant was as hands off as possible. The opponents are NHL players too. You can just try harder your way to a win when the opponent makes adjustments and shutsdown what you were doing. Your coach needs to counter.
  24. What we do know is that the players were asking for Xs and Os. Players were begging to be coached.
