  1. I'm not hanging my hat on anything. I don't give a fuck about Nash or any other UFA signings. I'm excited to see this team, Panarin included, have an actual coaching staff.
  2. Interesting. On one hand, you bring up ppg drop-off. Then you go on to say Nash was a goal scorer, not a points guy. Regular season Nash scored .41 goals per game. That's 36.5 goals over 89 games. In 89 playoff games, Nash scored 18 goals, so half his regular season production. Then factor in sample size. Panarin's teams had one true playoff run, 1 first-round loss, and a Covid play-in for 30 games. Nash had 2 deep runs and 2nd rounds for 73 games. One good run for Panarin with an actual coach would disrupt your entire argument because the ppg would change drastically. Oh wait I forgot, I can't mention that Panarin had 1.13 ppg in the playoffs under Torts.
  3. Cool. They won 47 and 50 games when Panarin was there. 33, 36, 32 after he left. Went from 10th in GA both years he was there to 22nd, 30th, 21st. Trading Panarin really worked out for them.
  4. LOL, and you accuse me of mental gymnastics. Chicago traded him because of the salary cap. They knew they wouldn't be able to sign him long-term. Their mistake was thinking Saad was the answer. And you're holding it against him for leaving Columbus Ohio in free agency?
  5. He's been the same player his entire career? So as the original post said, you think Torts just let him do whatever he wanted without being defensively responsible?
  6. Right, right. Panarin just can't be coached. Even though he played half his career for Quenneville and Torts. It sure doesn't have anything to do with GG. All Panarin's fault.
  7. Who said anything about Vesey slotting over Tarasenko or Kane?
  8. The last 4 years. Hellebuyck: .917 SV% and 2.67 GAA Jarry: .915 SV% and 2.62 GAA I wouldn't call him top 10. I don't think there is a top 10. There are 4 or 5 guys at the top, then there are 10-15 that are interchangeable. That may put him in the "top 10", but not noticeably better than the guy in 20th. That's not worth the price.
  9. lmao, I'm doing mental gymnastics? Laf was not good there. Yes, easy pretty easy to blame GG for leaving him there for too long. GG played Dryden Hunt with Panarin for nearly 300 minutes. When Vesey worked in that spot there's no blame on GG for not committing to it? I didn't blame Drury for anything. I said Drury wouldn't have had to make the trade if GG stuck with a linemate that worked for Panarin/Trocheck.
  10. This is how I feel. Let them give up assets to sign a 31 year old goalie to an 8 year deal with a $9 million dollar AAV. Hellebuyck's .916 career SV% doesn't scare me. If you put any stock in the Quality Start stats on Hockey-Reference, they 'd be better off signing Jarry as a UFA. Wouldn't cost them assets, younger, cheaper.
  11. Panarin/Trocheck's most common 3rd wheel was offwing Laf. That was well before the TDL. If GG didn't force that for so long and gave that time to Vesey there's a good chance they don't make the trade for Kane.
  12. https://frozenpool.dobbersports.com/frozenpool_linecombo.php?select=F&forward=NYR%3A4256%3AARTEMI%3APANARIN&games=2022-2023%3AR%3A99&period=ALL&situation=EV Look at the numbers of Panarin-Trocheck-Vesey. No idea why GG wouldn't stick with it. Panarin had his best seasons with Fast, Blackwell, and Hunt on the RW. Numbers with Vesey were good but GG broke them up. But I've been told coaching doesn't matter and it's all Panarin's fault.
  13. Interesting, seems slightly mixed though trending negative and contradictory to the reports I posted. All comes down to which of “I really like him. Super skilled with a big ceiling. He’s in my first round.” - NHL Scout, March 2023 and “I don’t want him on my junior team let alone my NHL team. He’s not the player for us.” - NHL Scout, January 2023 was the NYR scout.
  14. Sporting News Mock Draft Riley Heidt - Elite Prospects Riley Heidt - DobberProspects ------------------------------------------------- This is a pick I can get behind.
  15. Interesting that you bring up ADA who is small, sucks fundamentally, and is an offensive defenseman/PP specialist. You know whose fault it wasn't? Skjei, an actual comparable as a big, smooth skating 2 way defenseman who's coming off a couple of fantastic years in Carolina.
  16. Miller played 53 games under Quinn. 161 under Gallant. If your complaint about a 23 year old defenseman is that he looks lost in the Dzone, yes that is the coach's fault. Or is Panarin the one that is supposed to be helping him with defensive systems, positioning, and coverages?
  17. I don't think that's fair to him. Again to draw the comparison to Zib, who had injury/concussion concerns early on, he's played over 80 games in the last 3 full seasons. I know he had some issues during the COVID years and don't feel like looking up how many games he actually missed. Point is Chytil is coming off 74 games. His durability should continue to increase as he matures physically. Getting hurt a bunch when he was 19-21 years old happens to a lot of kids. Also, the jump from 22 to 45 points showed an increase in consistency. I can see that continuing, especially with better coaching. I don't think he's a finished product yet.
  18. I'd rather just run a 4th line of Cuylle-Brodzinski-Vesey than sign any of those guys.
