The fact that Friedman said they were very in on Tommy Novak, and now obviously that isn’t a thing any longer with him signing an extension in Nashville, leads me to believe that there may be some type of a match between us and Seattle here. This may be Drurys Plan B for the 3C.

You can do worse, certainly. Friedman "wondered" about fuckin' Kevin Rooney on the latest 32 Thoughts. But this guy is also just a guy. As long as the cost to rent is low, whatever.

Thank god they've seemed to have cooled on Henrique!

...guy hasn't played in a playoff game in 12 years!!

This will be so dumb. Thanks Jonny B for the 110% effort all the time and creating chances constantly but we are the NYR, where the name and career history trumps everything else so go pound sand. We literally have an effective 2nd, 3rd and 4th line. Trade futures and Zac Jones to complete the roster. Let's not be silly here.

Don't follow the Kraken, or CBJ for that matter.

Explain Wennberg to me, what are some other former ranger or league comparables?

Erik Christensen.

Wennberg would provide the replacement New York has been seeking for third-line center Filip Chytil, who has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to lingering symptoms from a suspected concussion in November. He doesn’t provide the same offensive upside as Chytil, with 25 points (nine goals and 16 assists) through 60 games played this season. But he’s a versatile forward with solid defensive metrics and penalty killing chops.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pounder has generated a 51.55% xGF in spite of a 47.76% shot share, according to Evolving Hockey, with his two-way game the primary appeal for contending teams. He leads all Kraken forwards with an average of 18:49 time on ice per game, which speaks the trust he’s earned in all situations.

If Wennberg came to the Rangers, he would almost surely see a reduction in minutes. But he would represent an upgrade in their 3C spot, where Jonny Brodzinski has admirably picked up the slack but could easily be moved to depth role, while filling the PK void left by the waiving of veteran forward Nick Bonino.

Wennberg would be a solid addition. He's not going to hurt you defensively and might be sneaky good offensively. Could be a low risk high reward player.

Probably, yeah. I choose to view this through a simple prism: NOT HENRIQUE.
