Again ... Why now?

Because this was always the outcome. The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago but the second best time to plant a tree is today.

Allowing this guy, who completely fucked this team, to navigate the TDL only to fire him this summer, would be folly.

They should have fired him with Babcock.

Who's going to pull the trigger on deadline deals for them? The really only have Roslovic who is expected to be moved I guess.

A new GM will probably want to make his stamp in the summer. They will be busy then.

They should be moving way more than Roslovic. That team STINKS.

I'd imagine and trade talks between JD or Gorton and Drury end one of two ways.

Either hanging up the phone prematurely or baiting Drury all day on TDL day to the point where all the real wants are off the board and then declining an offer to put Drury out in the cold.

Drury, JD and Gorton pull off a multi player trade. 🤣

100%. JD, too. It should have been a clean house. But this is the next best thing. You cannot allow this guy, who was always getting fired, handling trades.

JD is a great guy, can't take that away from him but he should have been shown the door. He's presided over the shitshow. The BJ's maybe not willing to swallow the rest of his contract which when signed in 2021 was for 5 years.

It's a tough sell for players. Small market, guys want out of there asap.

Columbus is a decent hockey market (I guess), but how about moving them along with the Coyotes instead of continuing to add teams and dilute things even further? That franchise has almost always been a shit show. What do they have, like one, maybe two playoff series wins in their history? It's been about 23 years.

It's a joke that this league is in Columbus and not in Houston.

Could someone explain to me what, if anything, a non-GM team President does?

If JD is such a great hockey mind and administrator, why doesn't just become a GM somewhere?
