That last sequence was a microcosm of everything wrong with this team. Fox has the puck in the slot with a clear lane to the net and instead, as everyone else does, opts to pass it for a low danger point shot instead. They are literally beating themselves.

After he faked a defender out of his skates and on his but... Then looked saw a clear shot lane annnd passed it.

This goalie isn't even that good, but the Rangers keep failing to throw pucks at the net.

  • Bullseye 1

Yeah b/c the Rangers were embarrassed with the lack of physicality, getting pushed around 2X by Matt Martin/Isles, got tossed around like rag dolls vs Tom Wilson.....Everyone praised Drury that off season when they signed Ryan Reaves for toughness, got Goodrow for playoff Stanley Cup experience and solidify the 4th line.   Dolan has given Drury everything he wanted to build this team.

You have a plan that takes a little longer to lock down long term excellence, you stick to it.  He was impatient.  Now look where we are.  Square one.

Panarin is untradeable. Zib, much the same. Great regular season guys, not playoff players. And hate saying this; Fox isn't getting the job done either.

Trying to understand on a offense with all this supposed talent up front setting up weak ass point shots.

Zib was terrific last year in the playoffs. His name should not get slandered from one bad run if that’s how it ends. It’s a disappointing outting but it’s nothing more than a bad streak.

Panarin, on the other hand, has developed a recurring pattern. Rick Nash in the playoffs, but in a smaller frame with more turnovers.

Well, the Rangers didn’t get better in the second period, actually got worse. It’s a good thing that the players don’t worry much, trust the process and know what they need to do. Maybe they are holding back for game six and seven to make it interesting, you’ll never know….

Drury has some decisions to make this off-season

He already locked up Vesey, the genius who went for a line change in OT in game 3 instead of back checking and left his team shorthanded to lose the game. We're good!

They don’t believe they can beat Schmid clean. They think they need a tic tac toe play when what they need is traffic and grease.
