If they need EVERY penny there shouldn't be a problem packaging Nemeth with a pick/prospect and get away from his entire cap hit. I find it weird they need to buy out 2 years of Nemeth @2.5m. LindG1000 Posted July 7, 2022 Author Share Posted July 7, 2022 For what it's worth if Nemeth is bought out: All things considered - that his replacement (either Jones or Robertson, I assume) will basically knock out most of the cap savings, that there's no cap hit for the (expected) last year of the flat cap era, and that any post-contract hit is pretty trivial in what should be a rapidly rising cap situation, I can't sit here being too pissed about a buyout option. We didn't do our homework on his gameplay, and signed him for Nils which didn't really work having Fox and Trouba ahead of him on the depth chart and the PP. Yeah I didn't know he is owned 3.5m in salary that last year. What a stupid contract. Trade protection and backloaded a 3 year contract for a player that at best would be our 3rd pair guy.
