Dunny Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 That 4th line is nuts. Rooney is going to have his hands full. I think I dress Reaves for game 1, and then Gauthier or Hunt takes his place.

Blue Heaven Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 (edited) Yeah no need for Reavo in this series....Can't find it but McKegg scored a goal for Carolina vs. the Islanders in Game 4 of the sweep 3 years ago....Maybe he has some good playoff juju especially in Carolina?!?!? At the very least I'd rather see Hunt in and Reavo out. Edited May 17, 2022 by Blue Heaven
Dunny Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Gauthier/Hunt/Brodzinski/Mckegg May as well just pick one out of a hat.
Dunny Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Cuylle/Othmann still playing. Othmann would be interesting. 1
Kick save and a beauty Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Why is the game day thread a day early? 1

Duguay10 Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Interesting putting Nemeth on the 4th line, he has to be better there than on D, right?
Valriera Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Carolina is all about depth, especially after the deadline. The only way to beat that is to rope-a-dope, keep them to the outside, and take full advantage of your opportunities when they come. We are not going to win a footrace or track meet, but with our high end talent i think we have a shot by playing a conservative and opportunistic game. Or they will just blow us out too. The biggest x factor here is again the kid line, who has enough talent to push us over the edge, but is yet unproven against an outstanding team in the playoffs like this. Can't wait to see them here.
Cash or Czech Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Brodzinski-Rooney-Motte. All three guys have taken draws in the past, even if they aren't natural centermen. These guys have hustle, a bit of grit, and a little bit of skill to them. That's the perfect 4th line based on the players we have available. Goodrow replaces Johnny Polish if he returns late in the series. 2
RJWantsTheCup Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 If Reaves hits like he did first period of game 1 against the Pens I would go with over Hunt. If not I would go with Hunt. 1
Sod16 Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 The other options are not great, but they are better than Reaves. Watching him lumbering around is painful.
Keirik Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 I know I’ve been rather optimistic about this team most of the year and argued with the idea this is smoke and mirrors (pp + Igor) but I really believe in this team. I think we have quite a few guys just dumb enough to capture the moment without realizing how big it is and some vets with chips on their shoulders thinking why not us. regardless, this team as it is today will not be exactly the way it is whenever our season is over. This group doesn’t want that. Rangers in 6 and I’m saying that because Carolina steals a couple. Otherwise, we are the better team this whole series. 1 3
torontonyr Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 What if Sather programmed all of the ex Rangers and we plan to activate them as sleeper agents? Zib just skates out there and says the codeword (hotdog) and suddenly they're scoring own goals. 1 1
Cr00zng Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 A week ego, it didn't look like that the Rangers will make it out of the first round and yet, here they are in round two. The Canegers are heavily favored against the Rangers and yet, the Rangers do have a chance to advance to the conference final. I am with @Keirik and remain optimistic that they will be in round three. Let the games begin... LFGR!!! 1
Dunny Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 Brain says Hurricanes in 5. Heart says Rangers in 7. 4 1
