[RS] (#35) Rangers v. Washington Capitals // Let's Not Get Stormed

Recommended Posts

Or am I high? Unsportsmanlike penalty at the end of a game is not 1 game suspension?

Anyway, Wilson blows and Lindgren telling Ovi to shut the fuck up is fucking gold

Instigator I believe for sure. Don't believe unsportsmanlike.

Anyway great 3rd period for the win.

Well that was pretty satisfying. 3rd period comeback. Left Ovi and Wilson muttering to themselves. Kakko starting to score more regularly. Igor top notch. Against the 2nd best team in the league. I'll take it.

Only team with a winning record against the caps this year. I’ll take that !

Shesty was studly after those first two goals. Gave the team a chance to get back into it. These guys can look so freaking good at times which makes the bad times even more aggravating. I guess that's what you get with a young team. Hoping that Kakko, Laf, and Chytil can build off this game.

Aside from the one play where he again took himself out of a good scoring chance, Kakko had a really nice game. Excellent puck possession. He has passed the eye test and the advanced stats test. The scoresheet should follow.

Maybe it's just against us, but the Caps' big boys seem to take a few too many nights off. Oshie scored, but I can never figure out why his numbers are more impressive given his talent level and who he plays with.

Given non-Sheshty ordinary goaltending, we are down 4-0 or 4-1 in this game, there probably would be no big third period, and this board would be irate. Just to show how pivotal Sheshty is to this whole little operation.

I hope Kratsov's appearance doesn't alter the chemistry.

I hope the Rangers' announcers and NHL Tonight folks will consider Wilson's little jaunt to the Rangers' bench at the end before blowing more kisses to this guy and talking about him being reformed blah blah blah.

I just sat back and enjoined the game after the first period

This team is having a nice season,I know there been ups and downs, but the rangers are very young

I believe this team is going to make some noise in the near future

First 10 mins were brutal but they settled it down after that and had a good game. Agreed about them being young and the inconsistency... it will get better.

For the most part, the games have been very entertaining. I really like rooting for the kids, and you're right Lefty....these guys are going to be a really tough out, sooner than later!

I kinda felt that when Igor was making all those saves, keeping it a 2-0 game, the Rangers got a spark from it.

That third period though; Wow!! ...and what can't you say about Fox??

If the Rangers ever figure out how to play a full 60 min game and not come out flat at the start of games they might actually be really good.

If the Rangers ever figure out playing a full 60, they're a freight train. When this team is really on, they're capable of running among the best in the NHL.

We always knew this season would be one of maddening inconsistency, and if we captured the consistency, we'd be threatening. That's about where we are.

With a healthy looking Shesterkin and Zibanejad looking closer to how he did last year, I'm hoping they can get on a run like they did last year before the COVID shutdown. They were pretty much a must watch team, and they've had trouble finding their way since then. They still might fall short of a playoff berth, but I think they could be poised to get hot.
