It’s certainly not the end all be all of a teams defense no and when the the actual number of scoring chances remains the same regardless of shots, I’d say that’s more of a bad sign than good. You’re arguing with me just to argue.

Defense isn't the Rangers problem, and hasn't been. It's been lack of scoring and shit goaltending.

 

They were giving up 34 shots a game last season, now they're giving up 28.
