Vodka Drunkenski
Looks like a conditional 7th is involved. At least we got some toughness, if he can stay on the ice

Slobberknocker
not a bad write up here, though its from a homer site: https://www.stanleycupofchowder.com/2018/8/7/17645978/adam-mcquaid-was-not-bad-in-2017-2018-boston-bruins-news-nhl broken fibula last year. freak thing rather than it being a back, neck, shoulder or knee. josh
Well, 1 year left, and the Rangers can probably get more from flipping him at the deadline. Not really sure how he fits on the roster, though. He's a depth guy, bottom pair, stay-at-home defender. We dont have one on the right side (Pionk, Shattenkirk, DeAngelo), but he also needs a mobile partner that can move the puck - which we dont have on the left side (Skjei, Staal, Smith, O'Gara)
phillyb
But at least he's tough as nails, and a character guy. He's exactly what Gorton wanted, it seems.
Phil
Tough as nails. One-year left. Provides tons of character/leadership for a young squad through to the deadline, then gets flipped for futures (arguably more than the Rangers gave up). It's win-win. phillyb
This is now the third deal we've done with BOS in the Gorton era, Lolden and Nash being the other two.
phillyb
This video is mostly him fighting, but there are also some great hits in here Can't wait to see some huge hits in Rangers blue. Is it too early to start a GDT for 9/17?

Ozzy
Nice, this dude is tough as nails! I love it!!! A SOLID, TOUGH, veteran protector that can guide our young D guys, play sound defense, and help prevent the opposition from taking liberties with our rookies????? Hell yes! Slobberknocker
hopefully he's not Clowe. least we didnt give up a second rounder. if healthy a great addition. nothing wrong with protecting the kids.
Sod16
He can play on the 3rd unit until the deadline, by which time the situation with the younger defensemen should have sorted itself out to some degree and he can dispatched and replaced with one of the younger guy. The Board seems pretty enthusiastic based on who he used to be, but he's got a lot of miles on him and is coming off a major injury. I hope Quinn does not get AV syndrome and play him over a younger guy if he really should be a Kampfer style extra in the press box.

A SOLID, TOUGH, veteran protector that can guide our young D guys, play sound defense, and help prevent the opposition from taking liberties with our rookies????? Hell yes! And he's been the defenseman that has the physicality that we have been lacking. Can't wait for him to see him play great in-your-face defense AND will bring that style of play near Hank's Crease! Maybe THAT was what we were missing! An Actual defensemen! Hell to the Yeah
