  1. No for both sides. Nashville loses basically all flexibility to improve roster for the playoffs at deadline. Rangers get a drawerful of unproven talent, but nothing worth the #2. The picks will be low.
  2. https://www.si.com/nfl/2019/04/28/draft-recap-dolphins-rosen-trade-giants-fans-daniel-jones-steve-keim-kyler-murray-nick-bosa-social Good stuff!
  3. Arm strength can be improved to a certain degree over time. Several examples exist of QBs improving their arm strength after reaching the pros. Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, etc. The way this is mentioned in the media makes it seems like he has a noodle arm. It's not an absolute cannon like Kyler Murray, in fact it's a couple of notches below, but it's an NFL arm. Neither batted balls or size concerns are natural talent. Batted balls is fixable. The size comment is inaccurate. Go take a look at NFL QBs and their height/weight/etc. He's also only 21. The guy was 1st round pick quality. Probably more teens-20s, but that's just how it goes sometimes. Gettleman simply wanted him and didn't care if it was a value reach. In reality they should have been prepared for this scenario where a guy like Allen is available that you should absolutely take. That way they can have a trade lined up to get back up there for Jones. Perhaps they did and they couldn't work anything out for a trade up, but it didn't sound like it based on Gettleman's press conference the night of the draft. What people are doing right now is painting this picture that Jones is a mediocre or backup QB just because he was taken early. I'm honestly just glad that at least it wasn't Haskins at 6. That guy is going to bust hard IMO.
  4. Define natural elite tools. Is this just a cannon for an arm? That's not what makes QBs great.
  5. Oh really? What a glowing regurgitation of the ESPN talking heads. I've watched Daniel Jones tape, and not just the highlights. I see a ton of potential and don't understand the incessant hating that's out there right now. I get the point that he was picked a little higher than some mock drafters thought he would, but I don't see on tape what the haters are saying. He doesn't have a weak arm. He doesn't have bad accuracy. He doesn't have a bad deep ball, though he didn't get to use it that much with the OL he had. He is probably the second most mobile QB behind Murray in this draft. He can really run and he posted a very good 40 time...something like 4.65. He makes smart decisions. Giants fans need to step away from the ledge and see how it pans out. I'll add that I would have taken Allen in that spot, and don't think it was a prudent move at all to take Jones there. But if they feel it's their guy and they A) didn't want to lose Jones and B) didn't think they could work out a trade up from 17 to make sure they got him, then I understand. But it's done, and it's time to focus on the positives. It will be fun reading the Giants bashing league wide for probably a year and a half until Jones even gets a snap.
  6. I think they answered this. Because the three-eyed raven/Bran represented the memory of mankind.
  7. The dothraki charge did piss me off. I even said to my wife when it happened, what are they doing? Why would they charge into the dark rather then use all of the barriers and defense mechanisms they set up? Don't they know they'll die out there and then just add themselves to the enemy after they are killed and raised up? I really hated that part. In regards to the Arya bit. I look past this as the NK had ordered all of them to STOP as he approached Bran. Maybe this shut down their senses. I find that to be plausible, since every one of them is ultimately controlled by him. Additionally, the NK was laser focused on Bran. His ultimate target was finally in front of him.
  8. They killed off names we knew but nobody that wasn't expendable. It was a damn good episode. I was highly entertained, but I thought it could have been even better. It felt rushed, but at the same time we always knew how quick it would be over if they got to the NK.
  9. I've gotten the opposite impression from reading about Jones. He could probably start right away and be "okay", but a 1 year wait should be a perfect situation for him.
  10. Seems like an Elway kind of QB to pick. And it actually makes a lot of sense that Denver traded out of 10 after they couldn't get the QB they wanted. They and the Bengals also passed up on Haskins and Lock, which is telling of what other QB needy teams thought of those guys. Denver also passed on Lock at 20. Unfortunately there isn't an alternate universe where we can see where Jones goes if the Giants don't take him.
  11. Let's focus on the positives: https://nypost.com/2019/04/22/a-mix-of-peyton-and-eli-daniel-jones-is-perfect-fit-for-giants-in-nfl-draft/ I didn't know he played last year with an injury of that sort.
  12. Yep. Crazy. Has to be a 1st under this playoff format.
  13. Carp is worth the cost of the Athletic subscription by himself. Great article.
  14. I've got a San Jose/Dallas WCF with San Jose going to the Finals. That's about the only good part of my bracket. Pending San Jose's game tonight.
  15. I'm also fine if they don't do anything with QB until next year. I did see one interesting mock draft that had them go: 6. Oliver DT 17. Jonah Williams OT 31. Will Grier QB (trade to move from 37 to 31 in front of the Pats to take him - 2nd and 4th or something like that it was) I wouldn't be upset with this outcome tbh.
  16. The only QB I'd roll the dice on at 6 is Murray. High risk with his size and all, but very high reward. Don't buy this chatter that the Cards aren't taking him #1 though.
  17. I hope DG and the Giants don't bend to the QB pressure if it's not there. I'm not a fan of Haskins, especially at 6, and I've read some mocks lately that have Jones at 6. What a terrible move it would be to pass up on a top end defensive prospect when we need that so badly. If they want to take a QB at 17 I'm cool with that. Jones or Lock would be fine. I'm also fine with a 2nd for Rosen if the Cards do take Murray. I think what is likely to happen is: 6) Defense 17) QB - Jones or Lock 37) OT or traded up to get back in the 1st for an OT The rest will be defense and probably a WR with size.
  18. Doesn't it feel so good that he isn't our problem anymore? Cleveland is loaded with talent but it's a highly combustible situation. If it works out for them it will be special to watch. If it doesn't though it will set Cleveland back many years.
  19. I'm not as sure about killing off the stars (like Arya or Bran) in this battle. I definitely think a few main but expendable characters have met their end (Tormund, Greyworm, Gendry, Brienn, Podrick), but there's a whole storyline here regarding Cersei and what happens there. They haven't showed her much leading up to this. What nobody expects is for Cersei to change her mind in regards to helping. She made a comment last season about "let them and the dead fight it out, and we'll handle what's left of them". She is far too smart for this approach, because if mankind loses then what will be left is quite simply the dead + the rest of them converted + 3 raised from the dead ice dragons. Maybe she is so far gone that she would rather mankind be wiped out completely rather than potentially someone else sit on the throne. I actually thought her and Tyrion maybe cut a deal regarding Daenerys' successor (i.e., Daenerys would name Cersei's future child as heir in exchange for help), though that made less sense when she reneged on sending help. I still think there's room for a big surprise here.
  20. Right. The 24m in space included his increased cap hit (https://www.capfriendly.com/teams/jets).
  21. Can we just pretend that other teams like Winnipeg love Pionk and Vesey, and Gorton can sell them on it?
  22. Maybe. We are assuming they are trading Trouba here though, and I think that Laine estimate is pretty high. They'd be pretty dumb to give him elite money after the extremely mediocre season he just had. Not to mention he is also an RFA. I wouldn't give him more than 7-7.5 right now.
