Games like this scare me because you figure Hughes is due and the Devils are due for a win, and the Rangers have hardly played. lol Hopefully they come out looking better than they did against Edmonton at least.

This is probably the most excited I've been going into a season in which I know the Rangers aren't going to be a contender. (Although, you never know, I suppose)

I was thinking maybe in 2-3 year range. I absolutely would not go more than that. I know he's not a guy you build around, but I think he has the potential to be really good in his role. I don't think Sean Avery-like production is out of the realm of possibility for him.

I expect him to play well and then re-sign here for a longer term deal.

I think they should go back to having a bunch of 'A's like they did for a bit there, and see what happens. I still think naming McDonagh captain was a mistake at the time. So, let things play out this season, and go from there on making a decision. I could still see MZ get the captaincy officially anyway. He's basically a pseudo captain as it stands.

You know I'm starved for hockey when I am excited about the Traverse tournament every year. lol

What a turnaround for this system in the last two-three years. Not too long ago I think they had the worst or one of the worst.

Names has been a huge disappointment here, whole Strome fit like a glove from the get-go and produced. You won't get much for Names, but I think it's addition by subtraction at this point.

I'd be thrilled if they replaced Ruff with Hayley Wickenheiser at this point.

I think you worry about those last 2-3 years when it comes. You still signed one of the better offensive players in the league, and most of those years he will be in his prime.
