  1. Could have scored 200 if he skated harder and shot more pucks.
  2. Agreed, but Steve Levy spending the last 8 minutes of the game talking about Stamkos was absolutely terrible.
  3. It's a different team, they are not the same. Not bleeding chances is significant. They were also one of the top teams in the league in high danger chances against under GG, but they've improved that this year. I posted all the numbers already. Every goalie needs to stand on their head at some point. But Igor has to do it less than he used to. And while I'm sure there are times Igor is a .930 goalie, They don't need him to be that to win. They don't need the team to score on the power play to win. They were winning games when Igor wasn't a god and the power play wasn't automatic.
  4. This team is different because they don't bleed chances at 5v5 anymore and they get contributions from more than four players. I don't care if it's too simplistic, sometimes the simplest explanation is the explanation.
  5. Seriously the "we didn't win by enough during our sweep" stuff shouldn't get any oxygen. The Stanley Cup is a race to 16 wins, and it doesn't matter how you get them it only matters that you do.
  6. Your list is completely incorrect because the Rangers aren't at the top. I'm not worried about another team being a team of destiny, this team is already one.
  7. For them to move Kadri and not add a player that could actually defend should have gotten Dubas fired. For me, it's that Tavares didn't address a need. They didn't need more offense. They needed defense and/or goaltending, and players that were hard to play against because they're soft. So it's not that I disagree with your logic on the timetable, they just went after the wrong player who didn't fill a need for them. They chased the name.
  8. Yeah, I was trying to reel that idea back in into something more palatable. At some point you would hope that players coming into the league for three or four years and turning 21 or 22 would be better than players turning 30 or 31... That said, I don't know why Bedard doesn't "deserve" another top draft pick riding shotgun. What did he ever do to anybody? I prefer not to see that pick go to Columbus which has been completely inept in terms of how to manage talent for the last decade, and they don't even have a GM so who knows what the fuck they're going to do.
  9. I don't disagree, but my point was it's not bat shit to think 21 year old Bedard will be starting the curve to begin surpassing McDavid in 3 years.
  10. It's not bat shit to think 21 year old Bedard will be starting the curve to begin surpassing McDavid in 3 years.
  11. MacKinnon the only one close in terms of speed and the ability to apply skills at those speeds.
  12. Having the most points doesn't make you the best player. Other factors come into play, as does supporting cast. Connor McDavid turned Hyman into a 50G player. MacKinnon gets to play with Makar and Raantanen and Kuch with Point and Hedman/Sergachev, etc...
  13. Panarin turned down more money from the Islanders to play for the Rangers. That said, the reason they have trouble attracting talent is Lou. Nobody wants to play for a guy with his stupid rules about shaving and everything else, and he negotiates like it's still 2005.
  14. This seems misguided. You're not getting the best of Chytil in the bottom 6 or the best of Rempe in the top 6. No one has went after Chytil. He seems to concuss himself more than anything else. Yea just an overall confusing POV.
  15. Trouba is the Rempe of open ice hits. Half of them are illegal.
  16. It's been pretty slow for about 2 days.
  17. There will be less penalties when the shitty refs start getting weeded out.
  18. Of course. That's they playoffs. Carolina went down by three goals to the Islanders, and a better team would have closed them out.
