  1. But who fucking cares? The point is that no one's career was "destroyed" by playing with Mika. Kreider went from ~20G per 82 to almost 30 per 82 when Zib got to NY. You're the one dropping in bullshit bait comments, but you want others to agree for a change? Take your own advice.
  2. No doubt. But there was a way to focus him on doing that without stifling his creativity, a less dumbed down way than GG went about it.
  3. It's one reason, the biggest one. I don't really care what you think is a BS excuse.
  4. Out of his 300 goals, Zib has assisted on 92, Fox 57, and Panarin 50.
  5. Yeah, it clearly destroyed Kreider... With setting career highs in goals and whatnot.
  6. He doesn't even need to shoot to score. He just needs to get the shot through. The playoffs are about broken plays and greasy goals.
  7. https://www.lohud.com/story/sports/nhl/rangers/2024/04/17/artemi-panarin-ny-rangers-as-2024-nhl-playoffs-begin-stanley-cup/73340391007/ ## Nice little feature on Bread. I obviously highlighted the GG points for the "they don't listen to the coach!" crowd. He obviously was listening, and it rendered him indecisive and ineffective. A good coach doesn't try to change players, a good coach puts players in a position to lean into their strengths and succeed. Regardless, a good read.
  8. The first two times the teams met, Kakko was hurt and Bonino, Pitlick, and Wheeler were still on the team. The Rangers split 0-4 and 5-1. The next 2 games were hard-fought defensive battles that the team also split, with Bonino and Loosechicken in the lineup. Rangers added speed and Caps sold at the deadline. I'd call those games irrelevant at this point.
  9. Yea, have heard the same. I have a hard time trusting the public models, especially with such a subjective stat like xGF%.
  10. You're right. Teams have their ways, and agencies do as well. For example, Naturalstatrick uses an algorithm based on certain criteria, and Clear Sight Analytics (which many NHL team use) has humans watching games and recording data based on certain criteria. I'd rather use human-generated data, but I'm not going to pay for it.
  11. This is true. Frankly, I wouldn't be shocked to see xGF% fall to the wayside as a team stat that anyone cares about, similar to Corsi and Fenwick. First of all, it's too subjective, and secondly, as we discussed—an expected goal doesn't always materialize for some players the way it might for others (MacKinnon vs Kakko as stated).
  12. Ahhhhhhh. Thanks for that clarifying. Also add, Band-Aid, and Tylenol in lieu of adhesive bandages and acetaminophen.
  13. They fucking complicate everything. Two points for a win, one each for a tie, go home after 5 minutes of four on four and call it good.
  14. Don't sub 500 teams make the playoffs in football fairly regularly?
  15. I'm not a fan of Kelly Sutherland, however, that was by the book call. A referee is supposed to blow the whistle if they lose sight of the puck. Lindgren is acting like he had it trapped. I don't know what else the ref is supposed to do there, if they can't see the puck.
  16. You know Wilson is going to go hard physically after Panarin, and he's a special kind of scumbag. I don't think Rempe helps. I mean you can dress him but we know it won't be a deterrent because if a guy is injured, a fight doesn't change anything, and Wilson isn't scared of anyone.
  17. That doesn't help clarify what WWE is, nor is Kleenex a verb. Nobody says let me Kleenex myself. I think the one you were going for was Clorox.
  18. My guy, you didn't even have the balls to make the ballsy prediction...
  19. He's often very complimentary of the Rangers, their fans just fixate on the negative...in case you haven't noticed
  20. The only thing that concerns me is that Toronto is so very bad at first rounding.
  21. I agree but I'm taking points off because you missed an obvious chance to use the word "impotent".
