Shestorkin being 6'1 is his "problem"... Its almost as if the stellar KHL numbers didn't happen.. If he were 6'3 I'm sure he'd be higher (and if my aunt had a pecker, she'd be my uncle)

Is no Miller a surprise? I'd be lying if I said I had paid a lot of attention to what the plans were for TC

Very excited about the new Tool record... Long time coming.

While Anthopolous was the Jay's GM, he, and Ricciardi before him, had a no Scott Boras policy. If I was Gorton I wouldn't even look at another Overhardt client.
Those Jays teams won so many titles its a mythology most teams should have employed....
Oh.... wait...

Sabres, Buffalo: 2015-2019
Hurricanes, Carolina

I can see Sather wanting both Redden and Orpik in 2018.

Thanks for sharing.. I'd missed this before.. Wow is all you can say

Am I doing this right?

I really hope they can figure out a way to keep Kreider at a reasonable rate. We know the warts, but when on he's really good and would be a really nice fit
-
I really think some guys would rather see Panarin fail just so they could be right on a message board

I’ll say it.... that draft was boring AF.. after Kakko there was nothing exciting.
I was expecting trades involving picks and/or roster players..No fireworks.
-
I'd for sure do that.. I think getting out of Toronto would do wonders for Kadri
-
That’s a lot of cash for a dude with 1 50+ point season
-
Kaapo Kakko
NHL player comparable: Peter Forsberg
The breakdown: “When you watch him play at whatever level, he uses his body and his power. The way he comes out of corners, the way he attacks the net – there’s a lot of similarities with the way he plays and the way Peter Forsberg plays.”
I'd take that every day of the week, twice on Sunday.

Rangers did finish 20 points out of a playoff spot.. with a roster built for a tank.
Carolina missed by 14 points last year and made it to the ECF.. Not optimal, but every year there are a few teams who make a big leap.
-
I was nervous.. but I don't see JD allowing Gordie Clark distribute his Koolaide to the draft room
-
There are gonna be some good players in Hartford this season.
Living in Charlotte I get to see the Checkers in the AHL, they have been fun to watch this year, quality play and a killer pipeline for Carolina .. I hope the Rangers dearth of draft picks leads to a real honest to God farm system.. It would be nice for a call up to be a prospect rather than a AAAA level player
-
I'm now 1000% against Duchene... Look at the shirt he wore to the draft.. He looks like he's interviewing to manage a Roy Rogers
-
Can't get much more of a glowing review than that! Hope he lives up to it!
Also worth noting he had Howden #25 in that redraft.

Tocchet is being labeled "the Kessel whisperer", whatever the fuck that means.
It means Tocchet's breath smells like hot dogs and he keeps Phil's attention like no other.

that was my exact thought.. These previews are well researched and the metrics are very well presented.. but they really don't consider improvements (or regression). With a team counting on youth, the expectation is there will be growing pains, but some of these kids are going to continue to grow.
