  1. I don think it's about people watching on TV. He probably wants to go on stage, bring all his kids, illegitimate or otherwise, and have a fuckin' party in his gaudy monstrosity. I will say, I'm fine with them keeping their 1st rounder off limits. None of the names available even remotely pique my interest - other than maybe Vatrano. If a guy like Jenner or Zegras were to shake loose, I'd be more interested in floating the 1st rounder.

There’s something about changing the view every once in a while, I think can be good. 3. The rebuild went out the window when the Rangers got Kakko and then Panarin signed. At that point, it was business as usual.

  7. I think, by Valiquette's metrics, the Rangers are last or near last in rush chances against. That's going to consistently put undue stress on your goaltending.
  8. With both of those games being weeknights, you'll probably have less people milling about at the bars pre-game, but a few decent spots would be Stout, Celtic Rail, Blarney Stone. Other than that, I think your best bet would just to get in for warmups at 6:30. I think doors open at like 6 or so.
  9. Hope they wearing the flying skate jersey and the Rangers wear home whites
  10. No, I agree with you. But I think what Phil and I are saying is that it's not going to provide the satisfaction than fans think it will. That goes especially for the NHL where no one answers for anything outside of a few generic quotes.
  11. His skating might be the worst I've ever seen.
  12. Yep, and if you look at what happened in the NFL this past weekend, the NFL basically doubled down, backed their refs, and said the Lions fucked up.
  13. "It had to happen, something had to happen" He had to get high-sticked in the face like that? lol Everyone clutched their pearls and threw out suggestions of 20-game+ suspensions when Trouba clearly accidentally hit Frederic in the head with his stick. But, this obvious pre-meditated chickenshit retaliation is just going to get brushed aside.
  14. It's pretty surprising he's clearly desperate for a North American hockey gig. He's made $37M in the NHL in his career. Now he's basically playing for per diem in the AHL. I guess he just doesn't want to play in Russia right now.
  15. I think it's too simple to point to one stat, especially one so devoid of context as 5-on-5 goal differential, and say they're not contenders. They are who they are. They make their hay on the powerplay. It's not something that should just be tossed out. Yes the game is called differently in the playoffs, especially in playoff OT, but powerplays are still awarded. And I'll take a team that scores on 1 out of every 3 powerplays any day of the week. Their 5v5 play is improved over last year, and we saw that early. I think they've struggled a bit at 5v5 lately because they're really feeling the lack of quality depth. Brodzinski - Bonino - Cuylle is just not a good enough 3rd line.
  16. Absolutely. A lot of competition so far this year. Great to see!

And I think we need everybody to continue that and keep stepping forward.” — Peter Laviolette on the impact of Jacob Trouba GIF to HYPE:
  18. I don't have a Quest, but I have an Oculus Rift. I think it's pretty cool, but it's definitely not for everyone. Some people get motion sickness very easily, so it's a total non-starter. There are some cool games that at worthwhile, like Beatsaber. Overall, for $350 or whatever it is, I think it's good as long as you temper your expectations. It'll be somewhat fun and there are some cool things, but it's limited by a number of factors. Also, you need a Facebook account to use it.
  19. I saw someone say something about how the Metro teams have a lot of back-to-backs to make up for the fact their travel is easier - it's way the NHL tried to equalize strength of schedule. I don't know how true that is, but someone suggested it.
