The more concerning long term issue is the front of the opponent’s net…Rangers don’t seem to recover many rebounds…as a result, they look for the perfect play to score on instead of throwing pucks in front and fighting for rebounds…All the other stuff is something you can watch on tape and figure out…can’t teach guys how to fight for pucks in front…

Not sure how many more times the Rangers need to give up a shot from the opposite dot before they figure out how to cover it….I think it’s only been 7 this game…

Rangers defense is an absolute shit show the last couple of games…completely undiscipline and extremely dumb.

That’s the difference between getting the puck to the net when you can, and dicking around with it looking for the perfect play…

They played some of the smartest hockey I’ve ever seen from any team in the first period, and devolved into scrimmage beer league hockey by mid 3rd period…absolute melt down…they need to regroup…coach should call a timeout.

Can anyone recall a time when the announcers said, “Chris Kreider in first on the forecheck.” That was the highlight of that shift!!

We can say that, and he’ll even say that, but the reality and science support he had no chance on it.

To get technical, for an 80mph shot from the top of the circles, a goalie has .09 seconds to react…in reality, the human body can’t react that quickly…so, goalies go by reading the release of the puck. You learn to know where a shot is going before it leaves the stick by the way the stick is releasing. So, when you get a slight deflection like that one, you have absolutely no clue where it’s deflecting to and therefore, no time to react…granted, that shot wasn’t 80mph, but the average NHL goalie can react in .2 seconds (far longer than .09). Even putting Shesty above average, he’s not even breaking .16. You watch any great save on a deflection and you’ll see the puck hits the goalie and then the goalie reacts, making it look like they reacted to the deflection and made a great save. The save by Bob on the deflection by Zib wasn’t a reaction save, it as a position save…Bob read the pass, put his glove 13 inches off the ice (because the goalie pad is 11 inches and players are taught to deflect it just above the pads and below the glove, and the puck just went right into his glove…if that puck is deflected anywhere else, Bob has no shot at a save, just hopes it hits him…

It did…and contrary to popular belief, goalies don’t save deflections…they get hit by them. Unless the deflection is slowed down so much the goalie can react, but not usually…which is why I keep saying the Rangers need to go to the Kreider deflection as PP1…no other team can stop it and no goalie can stop it….

Not sure how many times it has to be said…puck deflected…not much he could do…Trouba was soft on the coverage and then provided a nice deflection.

Fucking brutal…deserved that loss….played like shit the third period. No heart at all…first game like that in a while.

Would be nice to see Miller score one…kid’s played a great game to now.
