Laffy has made amazing improvements in just about every area of his game except he still can’t shoot a puck off the pass…not sure what that’s about….

I’ve gone back and forth…ultimately, I don’t dislike him. Why would you work harder? You already play on the first line, the PP and the PK by putting in 70% effort for most of the game (and that’s generous). The leadership has failed to call him out for his laziness (count how long it takes him to change…he calls for a change from center ice and doesn’t take a single stride in order to not have to stop when he reaches the bench)…Throw him down on the third or fourth line and he may change his tune.

I’ve been calling him that for years….

Here’s my take/hope/assessment/fear: Rangers have shown they can play a hard hitting game for a period of time…they did it for a few week stretch…They’re now near the top of the league which is good and bad…good because playoffs are pretty much assured. Bad because you could fall into the trap of going all out to try and get that top spot, and in doing so, wind up like Boston last season…early exit from the playoffs. So, I’m fine with the less than 100% effort, but it can bite you if you don’t ramp it up in time to peak come playoffs…tough situation. No way you keep up peak performance for the last 20 games and playoffs…

Enough on Kreider, but every time I ride him like Zorro he scores a couple of goals…so, there’s that…

That was a perfect example of Kreider’s laziness…Bread was all alone in the Ozone so he pushed hard to make space and time for himself while others joined…Kreider just tried not to get hurt and turned it over…

Um…hello! He scored on that breakaway from a foot away! (The empty netter one…we know he’s about 0 for 15 on real breakaways where people chase you and might hit you).

He literally sat at the red line just watching the play and then realized it was being wrapped around for him and then he decided to skate it and do a beautiful rink turn and was the last guy back on the backcheck…totally useless outside 15 feet circle of the offensive net.

Nice job giving it away Kreids…don’t get hurt.

Some of the worst d positioning by a wing by Kreider…instead of looking for breakaway passes, he needs to cut off the cross ice pass and keep it along the boards…

Can’t say enough of the Dmen…all of them…

Biggest plus tonight was shutting down Pasta after the disasterous coverage against the Lightening stars…

Kreider in space again tonight…one decent shift and a bunch of skating around aimlessly…still can’t score on a breakaway where there’s a goalie in the net.
