The point is re-uniting a player with his former coach with whom he had success does not guarantee anything doesn't even guarantee that that player won't be bought out. And the point is the player playing for a coach before should not be a factor in getting the player, especially when that coach is likely gone in a year or 2.
I don't understand, do you think after his contract is up Lundqvist will refuse to leave MSG and they will have to call security to have him removed from the building?
if we are making a trade with Wild it should look something like this:
Georgiev, Lias, Gauthier, and Rykov for 2nd rounder, 4th rounder, Greenway, and Eriksson Ek
no thanks, we don't need some players just because they played for Quinn(we already bought out Shatt who played for Quinn) and I couldn't care less for some soft forward that played with Fox. I don't really care about who Minnesota will or won't protect either.
bottom line is they have to get him to retire from NHL and go play in Sweden and if the money is an issue they can find ways to repay him the difference. They have to make him see that it is best for all parties for him to go play with his twin brother.
Well the previous management was stupid enough to give him that contract, and Lundqvist was stupid if he thought he would still be an effective goalie at 38/39.
He retired from NHL for a long time while still in his prime, he just came back recently. By retiring from NHL he helped the Devils out with their Cap situation.
it is called throwing some outside of the box ideas around. Look at the coach we have, how many NHL games he coached before getting this job at 51 years of age?
