I like the idea of using the crest. This is just the worst possible execution of it.

The Heritage jerseys were absolute perfection. Agree that they're trying too hard for modern looks. They're so limited with what they can do with designs that these modern takes just don't work. The last three jerseys have relied entirely on the sleeve piping to provide any other color or design aside from the logo and base jersey color.

They haven't made a good jersey since the 2018 Winter Classic.

Yeah, it absolutely makes sense to run the same system. There was certainly a lot more of a throughline when Gernander was supplying Torts with players. Last few years there hasn't been much of a system to replicate or talent to really execute it. There's a really good mix of veterans and prospects in Hartford right now that are really buying into an engaging style of play.

Gorton was notorious for not returning to touch base with players. It could be that he thought they were in a good place because he never reached back out.

Gonna say Trouba. Laf and Gus are a bit more obvious because of their production, but Trouba has been super steady so far. By this point last year (19 GP), he was on for 14 GF with 19 GA. This year he's at 15 GF with 9 GA. You don't really notice the same lapses from Trouba or Miller thanks to the system giving them something to fall back on. He also doesn't seem to be chucking clap bombs from the point nearly as much anymore for wasted shots. Aside from the occasional Trouba train passing through, you don't see too much of him which is perfect. If only he didn't cost so much.

Yeah, the option is there if needed. On the PP and at 6 on 5 he's by default lined up at RW just to put him in shooting position. ES has mostly been LW opposite Belzile.

A mix of both wings. Mostly left, though.

Yeah, I'd much rather wait until the summer 2026 to even really consider McDavid.
