He probably should have just retired in the offseason instead of early in the season. lol Unless, he just lost the passion overnight. He was always fun to listen and a big part of my childhood. He will be missed. They are honoring him at the Stadium on the 20th.
It's probably because he's sick, Sharpy....most likely to the point where it's affecting him and making it uncomfortable.

I just keep thinking that he just didn't like playing for Gallant.
I watched one of those MSG shorts before a game one night and it was the one with Lindgren. Michelle asked Lindy who the biggest jokester on the team was, and he said something to the effect that Laff "doesn't have a serious bone in his body". I can see Gallant like a drill sergeant, and not digging Laff's personality. I can also see Laff being like "Fuck off, limp dick!"
Not that I was even close to being a professional player, but being a supreme goof ball myself, I know there are some people I rub the wrong way with my devil-may-care attitude on life. I could seriously give a fuck, but they don't, and they make it a point to try and piss in your corn flakes whenever possible.
I'm not saying all the work he did over the off-season didn't help immensely, but I'll bet he had a lot more motivation to be "The Laff we see now", as opposed to "I can't wait to get out of this fucking guy's lineup". I love the way Laviolette handles these guys. He's created a team unity that I can almost feel.
That shit they do at the end of a game isn't just by accident. These guys really seem to like one another, and play pretty fucking hard for one another to win. They want it all, and they deserve it!
Laff deserves a lot of credit for shutting his ears to the "Bust" label he was given and his critics, and then going out and doing what he did this year. I'll always be behind that kid, and I hope he breaks every record the Rangers have. @RichieNextel305's right too; with a little luck, he could easily have 35 goals. He was robbed more times than a stagecoach in the old west.Keep it rollin' Laff!
-
It's gonna be the Caps....I'd like to see us play somebody different too, but we know how this shit works.
-
The kid was playing pretty well when he became scrambled eggs; Mika went through something similar and he turned out pretty well later on.
I'm going all positive here, but I can see Chytil being a weapon of mass destruction on RW if need be. He could be very useful if somebody goes down.

The Godfather Part II is the best sequel I've seen. Lethal Weapon 2 is a good one as well.
And is there a worse sequel than Beverly Hills Cop 3?
Yeah... Jaws III
That movie doesn't only suck....it swallows!

All The President's Men!!!
Well, there you have it gang; a very special Regular season full of everything we could almost possibly ask for!
A very sound shutout victory tonight to sew up the Top spot in the NHL, and a lot of that is in part to #31, who has been downright fucking stellar in goal!...and here are the Top 11 nominees for tonight's “Ozzy Quote of the GDT”, sponsored by Caesar's Online Betting, where @siddious Pete goes to make the Rangers a "lock" when we need it most!

A full 82 in the books, kids!! Lots of great shit to read this season, and still more to come! It gets amplified from here, as playoff GDT victories weigh heavier in the power rankings, so bring your "A" game and keep us entertained to win the 2023-2024 Ozzy Cup!
The winning quote for tonight’s GDT goes to G-Man @LindG1000 who came out hot tonight and tucked away his 5th win of the season!
So.....I hoped everyone gets some rest, and takes a deep breath, because now this shit gets real!
It's time!! Time to stop listening to all the bullshit from the "analysts", and focus on what we have come to know as "Rangers Hockey"!
Gentlemen, it's time to pursue the arduous playoff road, and win ourselves a Stanley Cup!That does it for the the Regular Season, you guys!!! See you in the Playoff GDT's very soon!

Rangers Announce 2023-24 Team Award Winners
Artemi Panarin earns Team MVP and Jonathan Quick earns Players' Player Award
9:57 AMThe New York Rangers announced that Artemi Panarin was named the Rangers' Most Valuable Player, as voted on by members of the Rangers media, and Jonathan Quick was named the winner of the Players' Player Award, as voted on by his teammates.
Heading into the final game of the regular season, Panarin has tallied a career-high 48 goals, and 70 assists for a career-high 118 points in 81 games. His point total is the second most for a Rangers skater in a single season (Jaromir Jagr – 123 points in 2005-06) and the fourth highest in the NHL this year. Panarin has notched a point in 66 of his 81 games this year, establishing the franchise record for the most games with a point. Panarin has collected milestones along the way, including the playing of his 600th career game on November 2, establishing a career-long 15 game point streak, and recording his 700thcareer point on December 12. The Most Valuable Player Award was voted on by members of the New York Rangers media and has been given annually since the conclusion of the 1941-42 season. This is Panarin’s second win (2019-20).
Quick has a 18-6-2 record in 27 games in his first season with the Rangers, along with a 2.62 goals-against average, .911 save percentage and two shutouts. Last week, Quick was named the team’s nominee for the Masterton Trophy, awarded for perseverance, sportsmanship & dedication to the sport of hockey. On March 30 in Arizona, Quick became the all-time wins leader (392) among American-born goaltenders, surpassing Ryan Miller. The Milford, Connecticut native began his tenure with a 9-0-1 mark, becoming the first goalie in franchise history to notch points in his first 10 decisions. The Players' Player Award has been given annually since the conclusion of the 1958-59 season and recognizes the Ranger who, as selected by his teammates, "best exemplifies what it means to be a team player."

Right? Ottawa always seems to be a pain in the ass for us.
If there was ever a game to come out flying early and put one in the net, it’s this one. Don’t give this team any life. Come out swinging, score a goal or 2 early and we should be good.
You just know we have to make this difficult, Richie! LOL
-
We haven't had a blow out in a long time;
Tonight won't be it either! Expect a tight game, where we'll probably cough up the first goal, and have to come from behind in the 3rd yet again.
In other words: Expect Rangers Hockey!
Trivia is Steve Larmer and Craig MacTavish who scored the last 2 goals of the Regular season in 1994, the year we won the Presidents Trophy.
-
We did it with Chytil, so what the hell. Drury is in on it too!!
Legal loophole: USE IT!
I really could give a rat's ass about Mark Stone; if we play Vegas in the Finals, they're gonna need a lot more than him to beat us!

I've never seen a team that misses the net as much as this one! I find it really laughable at times; Lindgren on a breakaway...misses the net totally, and I had to laugh out loud.
Sometimes I think this team couldn't hit the net with a handful of BB's!
...and the winning quote for tonight’s GDT goes to @knedragon, who floored me with the Emily Kaplan line!
Where the hell is Jackie Redmond these days! God, I love her!- 1
