With Gleyber, he has a lot of skill and ability, but his baseball IQ just isn't there, and he gets down on himself for everything. He's just mentally soft. I don't see them bringing him back anyway, because re-signing Soto needs to be a priority. DJ will be back soon enough and we still have Dominguez as well. I think their system now is the best it has been in a very long time. Lots of reasons to be excited otherwise.

Yeah, we just have to rough it for a little bit.  DJ is always a shot in the arm, and I forgot about Dominguez!!!  Hockey season...that's why!   😉

It should be a good year though!  I'd love to see these guys get to the post season!

A guy with left-handed power was needed at Yankee Stadium. Who knew? lol One of my main critiques about this team the last few years was that they basically had no left-handed power hitters, and were far too right-handed down the lineup. Soto is a franchise player, generational type of talent who really needs to be retained at all costs. Getting Verdugo was a nice move as well. A solid lefty hitter who works counts and draws a lot of walks. This current lineup feels more like the old school Yankees lineups where they have patience and work at-bats.

So far my big disappointments are Torres being absolutely terrible in all facets and the infield defense being pretty terrible.

I love the big 3 in the OF, and I'm not terribly down on the infield.

Volpe has a great glove and Berti the 3rd baseman looks pretty decent so far.  Gleyber is gonna be Gleyber..I know.  But he has his moments.

Realistically you would expect your first rounders and second rounders to be locks in the NHL in some capacity. Everything else is gravy.

That doesn't mean they will all be high end players, though. When you look at who the Rangers have coming, you could easily see in 2-3 years this team being comprised of:

    Lafreniere

    Miller

    Schneider

    Cullye

    Kakko

    Perrault

    Othmann

    Sykora

    Maybe even Chytil!

Who were all first or second round picks. Then sprinkle in later rounders like Zac Jones, Edstrom, and Brett Berard... That's half of a 23-man roster and those guys will be sprinkled anywhere from the top lines to the bottom pairs, and we haven't even talked about goalies.

It's getting really hard to say they don't draft well. And we haven't even gone back to guys they drafted like JT Miller who are now 100 point players.

What's up for debate is how well they develop guys, but you can see they're trying to remake Hartford.

The present and future are both bright.

    Big point there!

I'm learning how to be patient as a fan, which is never easy...especially in the wake of what we've experienced up here with Laff and Kakko just recently.  But I like where we're headed!  All those names listed will also most likely get a boost with new UFA signings, and whatnot!

I think we're going to be in pretty good shape going forward.  The future looks pretty good, and a lot of these guys are getting some really valuable playoff experince at such a young age!

I'm not a fan of Kelly Sutherland, however, that was by the book call. A referee is supposed to blow the whistle if they lose sight of the puck. Lindgren is acting like he had it trapped. I don't know what else the ref is supposed to do there, if they can't see the puck.

I actually saw the puck pop up in the air on TV.  Granted Kelly is on the ice at a different angle, but that's just a terrible call.  The "dead puck" if it hits a player rule???  Sometimes I think they make this shit up as they go along.

I feel bad for Torts, I guess.  That's a shitty way to blow a spot in the playoffs.  I mean, Detroit won, and they would've been eliminated anyway.  But it just seems to always be Kelly Sutherland, doesn't it??

I just saw it is regulation wins as a tie breaker. What a dumb tie breaker. In a league where they give loser points in OT, it should strictly be wins. This just seems inconsistent.

I've probably said it a zillion times, but I hope they get rid of fucking regular season OT and go back to the original setup with ties being one point.  That whole "participation trophy" bullshit is wearing on me.

Kelly Sutherland strikes again in Philadelphia. Another brutal call as he lost the puck in the sky.

I thought we'd seen the worst of him, but this one takes that cake.  Credit Kelly Sutherland for personally eliminating the Flyers.

...Lost the puck in the air and blew the whistle!!!  LOL  (....puck goes in the net....NO GOAL!)

    Watch this shit:

    Way to go Kelly!

The NHL will certainly get him to ref all our games for that one!!

I've never had the pleasure of seeing it. I just thought of another awful one. The third Crocodile Dundee movie.

Don't waste your time Abe...I went when I was a kid...3D glasses and all.

I can never get back those 2 1/2 hours of my life!  LOL
