  1. Seems like we're a little too used to not having nice things. The "yeah, but..." sentiment after wins is pretty depressing. The team has looked good in camp. I'm excited to get this thing started. This feels like it could be a fun year from the jump.
  2. Vince mentioned last week he thought Mika might get done before the season starts actually. Who knows if that plays out but he felt like it was possible.
  3. What's funny about these articles and this whole situation is that it's clear people don't know what's going on. Nobody wants to make a declarative statement. "I don't sense they're as much in it anymore" has even Pierre in such a noncommittal pretzel it's not even a proper sentence lol
  4. Last night, Blais said Reaves is the dad in the locker room. Whatever he does on the ice is secondary to that fact. The team likes him. They respect him. They know he's going to battle for them and so they battle for him. That's why you trade for Reaves.
  5. Gauthier has impressed me again this pre season. It feels like Gallant likes him on the 3rd line, but Krav, Jones and a 2nd feels like a joke.
  6. Sucks to lose Papa Reaves. He's probably my favorite player outside Kakko. I'll be curious to see what's said about the injury today.
  7. This guy has been fucking awesome this preseason. Hits everything that moves and has skill to boot. Feels like Drury may have found a diamond in the rough.
  8. Kreider is the longest tenured Ranger. He knows success. He's taken players under his wing and has been outspoken about his feeling about what he can bring to the job. At this point, I think he's the front runner.
  9. Considering all the writing/talk from camp has been about Trouba, Kreider, and Mika, I'd be absolutely shocked if it was anyone else.
  10. When he's stuck out there for 2 and half minutes?
  11. Yeah I have no idea where this "fat" thing is coming from. He lost weight.
  12. Yep. And yet the internet will flood with negativity no matter who they pick. The team knows. The coach knows. The GM knows. We only get to see them through the eyes of journalists on the practice ice or on our TV screens for 60 minutes every few nights. We have no clue.
  13. I'm actually surprised McKegg didn't stick as the 5th center on the team. I'm not complaining but I thought he'd stick over Baron and Gauthier, who I don't think get anything out of being on the 5th line.
  14. IMO Lundkvist had the best game of any rookie last night. He looked great with the puck but also threw some reverse hits in his own end and played a solid defensive game. I just don't think it makes any sense to play Jones or Schneider over Lundkvist when they have no pro experience. They should, and I believe they will, go to the minors. Nemeth also looked solid. I think the D corps this year will be the best we've had in years.
  15. Strome not being able to win a faceoff has really hurt them tonight and really shows how important faceoffs are. You don't win faceoffs, you don't have the puck the whole shift.
  16. Can't remember the last time we outhit the Bruins. Might have been 10 years ago. I'm really looking forward to cuts and seeing this team take shape.
  17. Rangers do not have the same fire power in their lineup that the Bruins do but they've really hung in there tonight.
  18. I don't want Schneider or Jones starting the season here no matter how good they look in camp. This team is trying to make the playoffs. They don't really have time to break players in. Lundkvist as least played pro hockey and knows how to be a pro. Once those two prove it over a period of time in Hartford they're more than welcome to replace whoever. But the breaking in of multiple rookies every season is over. That's why Hartford exists. It's fine to let them marinate down there a bit.
  19. I had this exact thought. The way he hangs on the the puck is pretty astounding and with a player like Panarin on his line, he's bound to put up some points this year and send that confidence through the roof.
  20. I think that was the most I've seen the Rangers hit in the last 2 seasons combined. Panarin's line looks awesome. Love Kakko there. I'm a Jones hater but he and Schneider were very very good. I don't care what anyone says but that 4th line was fun to watch. Blais hits everything in sight. I'm really looking forward to this season.
  21. Seemed like Reaves was teaching Krav how to protect himself more that actually fight anyone. Everyone should know how to do that. You don't want a Svchnikov situation happening to any of the young guys no matter how unlikely. As far as Kakko not fighting, I don't know why anyone would want him to.
