  1. Teams in a weird space right now. Laf is not a 1st liner and neither is Krieder. Chytil is not a second liner and neither is Goodrow. McKegg is not an NHLer and neither is Hunt. Nothing seems like it's working offensively so far this year. On the other hand, Shesterkin is sick.
  2. Only reason I don't want it to be Vince is because I enjoying reading/listening to his shit for free.
  3. Leafs don't like to be hit so, even with a somewhat depleted roster, I feel like we match up well against them if we're on our game.
  4. Vince suggested that Bobrov was fired this summer because of his influence in picking Andersson and Kravstov. If that's true, it feels like the Rangers have known this issue was likely to come up again.
  5. Seriously. The likelihood of Vitali playing in the opener was pretty high. The likelihood of him being a regular in a month is almost 100%
  6. What's the point of this? "If half the team wasn't here, this team would STINK!" No shit. People complained when they traded for Fox. Remember that.
  7. Bucci is amazing. Not nearly as stuffy as the other guys. Adds such an interesting element to the broadcast.
  8. Well, that's not totally fair. He's of value around the league because he's known to be a great locker room guy.
  9. I agree. There's a real chance nothing happens, which is fine. Just win the game. Let the other shit happen naturally.
  10. You know, after reading the Mollie Walker article it seems like his attitude and personality might not be a fit at all (and she didn't even mention the first time he refused to play in Hartford). Dryden Hunt played well in camp. Gauthier played well. We're not privy to the behind the scenes stuff, but based on those two factors and already high tensions between Kravstov and the Rangers, it feels like he's not a fit. That's not to say it doesn't suck, because it does. That means they drafted two players with attitude problems in consecutive years, in the top ten. Or it means they have no idea how to develop players. Could even be both. But, I guess all of that is to say, I don't think they're worse without Kravstov in the lineup.
  11. Broadcast is good and so is the music. Well done on that.
  12. I'll be pretty surprised if this isn't waivers related, despite what Carp says (he has a sterling record, btw). I'm sure they'd rather get a bag of pucks for Hajek than nothing.
  13. I hate that fans worry about contracts 5 years from now. There is no way to know what the team will look like then or what the cap situation will be. The fact that Mika is at least 1.5M under value is an insane deal for the Rangers. If longer deals give us less AAV, then that's the way to go. We've seen teams around the league figure out ways to get from these guys time and time again.
  14. Lol, I like fighting as much (if not more) than anyone, but yeah, this feels like the Roman's in the Colosseum.
  15. A He added what we've been needing to add for three years. He got an experienced coach. He locked up key players to good deals. Buch being a cap casualty isn't on him. Clearly no one was interested in giving up anything for him, which is also not on him. Blais is awesome and with the rise of Kakko and Kravstov, I don't think Buch will be missed, quite frankly. Only reason it's not an A+ is because there wasn't anything insane that happened. I truly believe in the make up of this team. They feel like a team for the first time in forever.
  16. Whoever it is, I bet this is announced tomorrow. Basically the last thing that needs wrapping up.
  17. This is good news. I'd actually rather he not be in the lineup opening night though, because if his knee isn't 100% and he feels like he has to fight Wilson -- it seems like that could be a recipe for disaster. He can kill Wilson at another time.
  18. People on twitter: "I would have preferred 6 years." Lol, Okay? So do you realize that probably cost 10.5-11M? Do you prefer that too? Clowns.
  19. Hajek is still on the team. He'll be cut along with Barron, and McKegg.
  20. You're the first say "it's preseason" and then complain that every looks "terrible." If "it's preseason" is the excuse to downplay good play, it should also the excuse to absolve mediocre play, no? I'm just remembering how much we all complained about the team that won the presidents trophy. Like, yeah, there's always something that could be better. There's no such thing as perfection. But when you think back on that team compared to the last 3 years it sucks to think I wasn't satisfied with that team. I'm looking at this team now, a team that just missed the playoffs last year, and I'm seeing positive growth. I'm seeing defined roles. I'm seeing a coach with experience. Preseason can show you a lot. And I've really liked what I've seen.
