  1. I've said it before, you can have Scotty Bowman, Al Arbour, Herb Brooks, or any other great coach behind the bench of this team. They are old, slow, and not physical. If they fall behind, it is usually game over. Some games it looks like they do not give a crap, and just go through the motions. If the goaltender struggles like he did last season and this one, they will lose more games than they win. Obviously the great start was fools gold, but the thing that blows my mind is everything changed for the worse when Fox returned from injury. That is when they started to go down the toilet. Perhaps that is just coincidence or me projecting, but if you check the record you will see that is what happened. I have lost interest in this team because they have no heart, no guts, and might not even be a .500 playoff team. Sorry, I have learned from my NY Jets fandom that I can no longer bear the constant losing, it affects my mental health too much LOL.
  2. Yeah you want to trade the heart & soul of this team when they are 13-3-1. Riiiiight. Come on, just stop.
  3. Hi all, haven't posted or visited her in ages. Just recovered my password etc... So far from what I see this Ranger team is much different than last years not very "Galant" team. Just some random thoughts, don't kill me too badly LOL We (or at least, I had) forgot how young Laf actually is, being thrown into the big man's game at 19. He is now starting to show why he was a #1 overall. Playing really well and contributing at both ends of the ice. I have been really impressed so far. Igor had bettter get his game going because Quick has been unbeatable so far. The Rangers are dominant every time he is in goal. Even Domingue played really well that one game. Benoit Allaire, what can you say, he is the common denominator in all of the Rangers great goal tenders over the years. Panarin playing well. Zib not scoring (yet) but being responsible at both ends. Kreider is a monster and headed towards 40+ goals again. I wish he was a tad more physical at times because when he is, he is unstoppable as Chris Letang found out last night. I hate the Pukes. Last night although a nail biter, was really sweet after the final horn sounded. Trochek playing well this season, better than last. Love his grit and toughness. Vesey and the 4th line also contributing, this is a very deep team. Last years team blows that 1-0 lead and loses that game in OT or a shoot out, however, this team finds ways to win despite missing their best player(s). This is a really good sign, a sign of depth and team chemistry. They can fall behind, but you can never count them out. Power play and PK are really good as well. ST's often determine the outcome of games. They beat NJ. To me, that was huge because last season, NJ skated circles around them, and my fear was they were too old and slow to keep up. Was skeptical about the hrifng of La Veal Cutlet, but I have to say, this team playing the center ice trap gives up very little defensively, and is poised to counter from their blue line into the offensive zone. Defensive zone break outs are also going better than weve seen in many years. So far, so good. This Ranger team seems to be very formidable and will hopefully remain so all season, through May, and deep into June. Like they say on Twitter, "why not us"?
  4. Might I interject, that "The Island" is now 2 blocks from the City. Just sayin LOL
  5. Love the move. Happy they did not revisit an old nightmare in Tortorella. His act is tired in the NHL, let alone here. Would be absolutely shocked if we do not see a marked improvement in this team next year in all facets. This guy is a real hockey coach.
  6. It became obvious to me (and probably everyone else here, and in the NHL) in January and February that this team was soft, and could not skate with the big teams. They did beat Washington a couple of times, granted, but against BOS, NYI, PIT, and the last 2 games against WAS, they were fleas to be swatted away. Gave everyone false hope feasting on a terrible NJ team. When I hear the name Jeff Gorton, I think of Lias Andersson. You or I could make the right pick(s) at 1 & 2 LOL, but due to poor coaching, those guys have not even approached the status of being a #1 and #2 overall, although Kakko did show some improvement this season, as did Laf near the end. The team got shut out on many nights and scored 8 goals on a few others so there is s o m e promise here, but overall, I would give this season, including the coaching staff, a solid D. If you add in the FO debacle this week, it goes to an F for total and complete failure. The timing was utterly ridiculous. If they fire Quinn which I hope they do, I just hope they do not bring Tortorella back here, that would serve no purpose at all. Retreads never work and his act is so tired with the young millionaires playing in the NHL now. We are always too late for the ball so to speak, would love to have been able to get Trotts and Lamourello here.
  7. Great point. This is totally contrary to how JD built STL and CBJ.I thought JD believed in size, speed and toughness? The Rangers have some speed but that's it. Makes no sense to me. Trade toughness for nothing...
  8. We see the same game night after night, and year after year under Quinn. We see the same deficiencies night after night, and year after year under Quinn. This team may set the record for getting shut out in one season. I have never been a David Quinn fan, but it is clear now it is time to make a change in order to try to save something out of this season or else this team will be out of playoff contention by March 1. This team came in to this season out of shape, and Quinn appears not to be able to reach the younger players. The other 30+ teams, GM's, scouts could not have been this wrong about Kakko and LAF, could they? I realize Kakko is 20 and LAF is 18 or 19 but even still, 2 goals between them? Ridiculous. This team as currently constituted, is unwatchable. Last nights game was a boring snooze fest as is every game. Shut out after shut out. No matter, they will be on the golf course in early April yet again and out of our thoughts even sooner. Sure we are in a rebuild, so let's trade Panarin, Zib, Kreider.. hell, trade everyone! Why not right? You can trade everyone, but the problem will always remain until we get a legitimate coaching staff in here that knows how to develop young players or else we are in the rinse and repeat cycle
  9. Just ask yourself if 30+ other NHL teams GM's and scouts could have been this wrong about Kakko and Laf, and you have the answer. I firmly believe Kakko and Laf would be way further along under Trotts or someone of that ilk. Have never been impressed by Quinn, the team plays flat too often, comes into the last 2 seasons out of shape, and just invents ways to lose hockey games.
  10. Mika looks slow to me this season. Maybe he gained weight or something.
  11. Have to call it like I see it. Granted we are a young team and it is only game 1 with no pre season, HOWEVER, the Rangers were overmatched in every aspect of the game last night - it wasn't even close. Goaltending looks like it could be a huge issue, Shesty was awful last night. Conditioning looks to be a a huge issue as well, the Rangers looked slow afoot, almost as though they were skating in cement shoes. Part of the reason a team takes a lot of penalties is because the other guys are beating them to loose pucks, dominating them physically, and are just better prepared. Such was the case last night, as was the case in the Carolina series in July. Last night looked just like that series did. It appears as though this Ranger team severely lacks a real leader. Yes Mika and Artemi are great players, but there is no leadership there, you can see and feel it. Kreider? Big guy, talented guy, but not a leader, and definitely not a physical presence, even with that big body. A total enigma. Oh, I have to give honorable mention to the #2 overall pick last year. Good lord, he is not even an NHL caliber player at this time. How is it possible that every NHL scout was wrong about him? Everyone except the Devils I might add. I am really starting to if doubt we will ever see anything from him, but am willing to wait a few weeks /months this season to see if he turns into a real NHL player before using the "B" word. Maybe he should go down to the minors to play and get tougher as well as regain some confidence? Quinn is the Adam Gase of the NHL, and should have been gone after the Carolina disgrace. Last night we saw the difference in how a real coach prepares a team, it's like night & day. As I said, I know it is one game against a top team, but this Ranger team looked as though they had no training camp, and had just laced up the skates for the first time last night. Islanders are a cup contender without a doubt. We are as far away from them as the Earth is from Pluto.
  12. This thread should be entitled "Henrik is the greatest Ranger goaltender in history", not the greatest Ranger in history. There has never, nor will there ever be another #11. Sorry guys, not even close.
  13. I'd take 1 and be happy going from there
  14. Darn this, how else would the rangers have made the playoffs?
  15. Artemi Panarin - F**k you for whining about money when there are millions of regular people starving and out of work for MONTHS already during a GLOBAL PANDEMIC. Jamal Adams - F**K You too you spoiled, self entitled, selfish, over rated wanna be superstar turd. Hot news flash for you. Sports is NOT AN ESSENTIAL business! Life has, and will continue to go on without you and your Escrow. Seriously though, why do these over paid whiners think anyone cares about their salaries, especially now? Honestly, at my age, I am starting to hope sports never come back. So tired of living in my shithole apartment while kids like Jamal Adams and Artemi Paneran play games, make millions, live in mansions with 15 rooms, 12 bathrooms, bowling alleys, movie theatres, 4 pools and all, yet still find things to whine and complain about. Would love to see them all have to go out and get regular jobs like us working stiffs. Now having said all of that, who's watching the lottery tonight LOLLLL?
  16. Seriously, I think the real issue here is disappointment. Everyone, myself included, was expecting Kakko to come in and set the world on fire because he was billed as a franchise player who could be a major force here for 10-15 years and it just hasn't happened, in fact it looks like he could have been a second round pick the way he has performed, but we do have to be patient and remember he is a boy going against men. His 18 year old bod is not mature enough to take the pounding from grown men on a night in and night out basis. I do not see what the harm would be to send him to HFD and let him grow there. Hate to think the #2 player in toe world in 2019 supposedly is this lacking, I think it is a matter of physical maturity and time in Kakko's case. Forget the playoffs, this team and CS stinks and even if they make it, they will be ousted immediately. JD has to get involved in player development like he did in STL and CMH. We need big fast players and he knows how to find them, obviously,
  17. Did poo poo Kakka play last night btw? Is he still on this team? 2-1 loss happens. Get ready for tomorrow night for if they don't, they will get pounded as the Isles are looking to beat on the team that has beaten them twice in a week. Great idea to go into the break off of a W.
  18. I admit I was wrong as well. The team has really impressed me lately, the way they are playing desperate and skating their asses off. Still wondering what planet Krappo Kakka is from, other than that, well done, keep it up, and most of all... I GOT A BIGGG MOUTH LOL
  19. The winner. I was close saying 0 which it should have been. They suck.
