GDT 2021-22 ECF #5: Rangers vs. Lightning — Some People Pronounce it 'Win'
Tonybologna replied to Phil's topic in New York Rangers
He called it out? I missed it. Was getting annoyed that no one on the broadcast mentioned it too haha -

Do we have any updates on Strome, Chytil? -
Well the refs called two really soft penalties to even up the opportunities we got when our goalie was slashed and then trucked over. I'd call it pretty fucking forced. More game management. Those calls on Trouba don't get called if the Rangers didn't just have two power play goals. Sick of this shit.

It's not even the same team that started the playoffs. They've grown and grown so quickly. Getting adjusted to the playoffs in the first round where they struggled a lot. Coming out of a hard fought and tight 2nd round series victorious. No one can any longer judge the team based on their round 1 or regular season performance, they've evolved.

This ref shit is almost ruining the NHL for me. It's really starting to look like games are managed and guided with make up calls or inconsistencies and who knows how deliberate it all really is and I know we've heard things. It just makes things feel so illegitimate and the only thing having me still feel like it hasn't tarnished what the Rangers have done is that they are wayyy more on the losing side of these calls than they are on the winning side. Probably worth another thread to discuss and a GDT isn't the place but it's been bothering me. Why am I watching a sport and rooting for a team in a sport that feels like outcomes are forced. I stopped watching the WWE the day I learned the truth so I hope that doesn't have to happen with the NHL lol

GDT 2021-22 ECQF #1: (2M) Rangers vs. (3M) Pittsburgh Penguins — to War!
Tonybologna replied to Phil's topic in New York Rangers
Most concerning to me is how as time went on the Rangers looked slower and slower but the Penguins didn't. I guess the whole team needs to work on conditioning for next year. -
Dreger Rangers Will Push Hard to Re-Sign Andrew Copp
Tonybologna replied to Phil's topic in New York Rangers
Thinking outside the box here, is it allowed to strike a deal with a team where they sign someone like Copp in UFA, and then have them trade him to us with retention? Is there a way to hold them to trading him or would it have to be a handshake deal that they could simply decide not to trade him after signing? -

I do wonder about Miller's potential as a winger where he could try stuff like that without worrying about defense as much, I know it'll never happen I just love his skill when he does things like that. It's something we don't have elsewhere in the lineup.
