whats scary/frustrating is there have been multiple stretches in the past when Zib looked like a top 10 NHL player
-
bring back zucc, or buch... or someone else who can fill the role they did...
-
lavy's certainly the difference maker to the way this team is performing as a whole. but i think Panarin was determined to ball out regardless of who was going to take this team over...

GDT [RS #15] Rangers at Devils — It's Been a Minute

the teams structure was so obviously a difference maker in this one compared to last season lavy is unquestionably a full blown tier or two above gallant in the coaching ranks -

wait, so you can have a total phantom 'tripping' call that can't be overturned, i believe, but you can call a hit a 5 min major and review it to no penalty at all? r u f'n serious? -

hard to argue that even vesey wouldnt be a significant upgrade over wheeler. looks like the boys are gonna have to bail out shesty in this one for a change -

if goodrow can't step into the third line center role as a good backup asset...why the hell is he on this roster? -
we look pretty good...for regular season hockey. the question is if we'll have that next level of intensity and style of play needed for playoff success.

well if he plays the season out at this level, the rangers will have to consider a long-term extension going into next season. if the dollars are right he'd be taking a big risk not signing. -
well what if you let Kakko go...and goodrow... Gus is more than worth the price of both those two at this point...and some

I think the pairing with Panarin is a pretty significant factor. That doesn't mean he hasn't earned his production - the guy is a serious talent and Panarin just helps bring it to the surface. And it could be a stepping stone...the guy gets more confident and maybe eventually carries a line on his own. -

Yea...we've been here before with zib...and he always ends up catching fire at some point. Lets see who has the balls to trash him when he goes on the inevitable heater again. -
as long as we're winning...no reason we can't be patient

Zib is the best center on the team. Which is why its so important to find a way to get that line going. Whether that means finding the right RW (still looking since Zucc, Buch...) Or if need be putting Panarin on his LW. I just can't see how you can tolerate Zib not producing at a top 6 level at ES. -
Give him at least two more next to Zib. That doesn't work, try him out on the 4th line. Then you can cut bait...
-
i mean...we'll see soon enough...wheeler could end up being a dud on line 1 too - and what would we be losing? how many more games should they stick it out with the k-z-k line lacking ES production? and id be fine with a cuylle-tro-kakko line as well...
-
Re Wheeler next to Krieder/Zib, you never know if some combination might just gel for whatever reason - and the whole ends up greater than the sum of its parts (like the previous success of the kid line...maybe this will lead to the success of the geezers?). And you can't get much lower production on the 1st and 3rd lines if your tried. Cuyle-Chytil-Kakko: Those are 3 guys each with a pretty good combination of size, skating & skill. And we've seen Kakko at his best next to Chytil. Could basically duplicate the effectiveness of the former kid line.
-
Good move IMO. And if Tro clicks in with Panarin & Laf, you could have Chytil coming back to centering Culle & Kakko - could see that being a very tough line to deal with.

Im psyched for another Quicky...looks like the dude could return to dominant form this season...maybe even challenge Shesty a bit -
lines 1 & 3 just haven't clicked very much till this point...its not about wheeler...those lines need to gel or eventually get tweeked

I've seen flashes from the K-Z-K line in the last two games...could see it clicking eventually...and if we're winning, it makes sense to be patient
