Its close but 4 mill X 3 for Gudas is pretty bad.

Spoke too soon.

Pens give Ryan Graves 4.5 X 6.

None of this makes sense. Graves is decent. Not 4.5 mil decent. Not even 3.5. 2.5 is more like it.

Lots of bizarre contracts.

Reaves at 1.35 per is the exact maximum amount that you can park a guy in the AHL at with no cap hit.  Still, you've got to be able to skate a little tiny bit to play in the NHL.

He’s a 35+ contract. His cap hit sticks no matter if he’s in the NHL, AHL, ECHL, etc. Until he’s 39

It's free agency, bro. This happens every single year. Without fail. It's called silly season for a reason.

This is over blown. What enforcer is a good hockey player? Use him sporadically and it’s fine.

It's not over blown. Enforcers are rarely good hockey players, that's true, but Reaves hasn't even been an effective enforcer for the last couple years. He's so slow he's not catching up to anyone anymore.

Scored against in every game so far, while not contributing anything one the ice and for 3 more years? When he's already 36 and cooked? Ridiculous contract to hand out. They even gave him almost 2x min-contract. It made no sense at the time and it's ageing exactly how you would expect.

They have so much talent, we should be thrilled they tied up that much salary in such a useless piece for their roster. We win!
