Not that I really care if he’s back or not but if he does sign with another team and the Rangers again trade for him, would that be the first time someone would be traded for, by the same team, in the history of the nhl?

He stinks. Love his effort but results stink.

No.

Some guys are just hockey players.

And they need to be utilized properly.

Hes a useful player of quality. And he knows his role.

Just needs a coach who does and will use him accordingly.

I mean… I guess as much as any 4th line guy does. That’s kinda the norm.

But I’m in no way uncomfortable if he’s on my 4th line, playing 12-13 minutes, and  killing some penalties. Especially if he’s playing within a system.

And the ballpark his cap hit lands in doesn’t bother me.

What exactly are you looking for out of a 4th line winger, who makes what he makes in a flat cap?

Honestly?

Hes shown he can fit and play and contribute here. And then, as mentioned, there’s his effort.

He’s fine.

If they gave him multiple years at little money, without much trade protection, it would actually be a good move.
Give him 2-3 years guaranteed paydays. That’s the value.

You can pay him less.
And if not, easy to move.

I like him. But he always wants too much money.

Yeah.

I get it.

You like him at $900K or so

Not as much at $1.2

But if you gave him 3 years of paydays, you could get him at probably just around $1 million.

I’d take that.

I doubt that. The cap starts going up significantly next year so it’s probably the other way around.

Maybe he just wants the security.

But if you’re saying it’s a bit of a harder market to navigate than normal, yes. That’s true.

I wouldn’t expect him to sell years that cheap is all. I find it more likely he’d sign cheap for 1 year, with a multiyear deal carrying a sizable increase in AAV.

Three straight deadlines in a row, you mean? Yeah, probably.
