QUOTE(S) TO NOTE:

“You prepare for these elimination games and put everything into them. I don’t want to get too dramatic but it’s like your life is flashing before your eyes. This whole season, we play 82 regular season games, come into the playoffs and if you’re done in Round 1 it’s like, "What was it all for?".”

Our Igor,

who art our tender,

flawless be thy game.

Thy saves be done,

thine goals will come,

from Mika, as they do from Kreider.

Give us this day our daily Breadman,

and forgive us for game 5,

as we forgive those who doubt us.

And lead us not into elimination,

but deliver us from the Devils.

For thine is the Cup,

the eternal glory,

for ever and ever,

...Matteau.

No. Ruff refused to say yesterday. But you gotta think they go with Schmid since Vanecek almost lost Games 1 and 2 single-handedly.

If he goes with Schmid and loses, no big deal. If he goes with Vanecek and loses, they'll want him on the next bus out of town...or under it.

What a bitch. Spoken like someone who's used to losing game 7.

They need to go in with the attitude that failure is not an option and that they're winning this game. This guy doesn't sound like he's someone who believes.

Our turn. Our time. It’s as simple as that. Play your game. Be physical. Clog up lanes. Stand them up at the blue line. Frustrate them. Get to the middle of the ice. If it’s Schmid, that glove is consistently low. We have snipers. Snipe that corner all fucking night.

One game. One fucking game. This game will be spoken about for the next 20-30 years. Be on the right side of that talk, and on the right side of the handshake line.

Lets. Fucking. Go.

I thought the same thing when I read that.

Yeah, I was looking for quotes and that one really stood out to me. Really a striking opinion from a hockey player, or even just any professional athlete.

I don’t take it this way at all. It’s spoken like someone who has dealt with the angst of losing a game 7, not someone who thinks they will. I want those battle wounds on my team. They will fight like hell to avoid the feeling.

If they come out with the same urgency they did last game, they will win. The million dollar question is , 'will they?'.

I don't know, the first period last game concerned me.
