Vezina winner and Hart nominee in his first full NHL season. That's insane.
Patrick Bateman
Great to see a nom for Igor in such a crowded year. Gaudreau, Hubby, and Josi all had a good case to be finalists
siddious
No worries Igor should get the vezina. This is all Matthews as others have said and deservedly so.
Karan
Yeah that's a fantastic achievement for Igor just to be a finalist amongst all the mega seasons a bunch of guys were having. Matthews will obviously win this for his sexy 60G stat but feel like even if he had a subpar year (e.g. 30G), the Leafs would've still ended up more or less where they did. Whereas if Shesty or McDavid had subpar years, both the Oilers and Rangers would've very likely have been non-playoff teams. As such, for the definition of the Hart Trophy, I rate those 2 higher than Matthews. 1
RichieNextel305
This guarantees the Vezina, same as did for Hank in 2012. How would any other goalie get the Vezina over him if none got the nod for the Hart like he did? All in all, awesome accomplishment. 1

But yea you SHOULD be right.

They look at what they did, not what they didn't, or what might hypothetically have happened had what they did not happened.

Easily: 1. Igor Bestjerkin 2. McYeez 3. Brostache Edited May 12, 2022 by Pete 1
Valriera
Would be upsetting that Igor wasn’t going to win if Matthews didn’t have such a crazy year but the leafs still make the playoffs without him. We do not
Sharpshooter
Igor probably wins the Vezina, but Matthews gets the Hart. That's how I see it playing out.

RichieNextel305
Igor should win; of the 3, he’s the most valuable to their team. But, I see Matthews winning this. Igor will easily grab the Vezina.
