[RS] (#34) Rangers vs Edmonton Oilers — Are You Feeling It Now, Mr. Krabs?

So, let's get another offensive minded center. One that dies something.  Anything.  I mean the cheapest option that makes sense would be Brassard. You down?

Try Barron.

I don't even like Barron, or as a center. But, I could see it working. Try Chytil on the right.

See what they got before the deadline.

I think the 2nd line right now proves that the Rangers are a proper C and RW away from being a powerhouse.

Just imagine: 1) The Rangers land a center to play 3rd line with Lafreniere and Goodrow. 2) Rangers also make a move for a skilled RWer who can either play 1st line with Zibanejad and Kreider and move Kakko back with Panarin and Strome (who had a lot of success) or play RW with Panarin and Strome himself.

That would create a monster team. And depending how the rest of the season shakes out, that would be a legit contender (assuming those two players are upgrades at their position)

I was thinking last night that I'd really like to just dump Cythil, Gauthier, McKegg, guys like that, and really upgrade there and get deeper. Once they do that, I think they are set up to really be elite. Hopefully they look into something like that. Next season they'll have Blais back as well.

Man, Giroux centering Laf would be the most ideal fit.

Oilers are probably on the phone with Drury to acquire Georgiev right now, mid-game. "whatever it costs, Chris — just ask him to switch jerseys immediately."

I want to know what Kreider did this offseason. Bit by a radioactive spider? Gamma ray bombardment? Just really fuckin mad he didn't get the C?

Although I really got a laugh outta @josh & @Pistol Pete's PLINKO reference, tonight's winning quote goes to @Vodka Drunkenski, who's Jeopardy parody was one even Alex Trebek would be proud of!!!

i gotta say an impressive 3/4 and probably could have been 4/4 if they didnt shit the bed in fla in the 3rd.

one thing that stood out to me was regarding fox on the PP.  i'm not the greatest hockey strategist out there but it seems to me letting fox roam the blueline without any pressure is not the right way for teams to play him.  go back and look at the recap and sometimes there was noone within 12 feet of him.

really nice to see ALF gaining some confidence.  he looked like he was having fun out there.

I've watched them pressure Fox but he's illusive  like Artie and Gretzky like in opening passing lanes

pick your poison

and I loved watching Fox and Lindgren play excellent man on man D with either Mcgregor or Draistil ( SP? )

its hilarious how many open net bangers Laf gets...and just about all he gets...but he's so good at it, one day we may need to stop joking. I mean, what if he turns into an open net bang it in specialist, with like 25+ plus of them one season...you'd have to consider that some kinda crazy skill, or knack, rather than luck.

Didn't Joe Thornton become that guy a few years ago. Netting like 10 empty netters or something ridiculous?

I watched Jari Kurri score a ton of open net bangers in his day.

I remember Gretzky faking out the whole team, and leaving jocks hanging behind the net in his "office", while dishing sweet one-timers to Kurri with nothing but twine in front of him.  Kurri scored upwards of 50, 60 and even 70 goals in a season scoring into empty or partially empty nets.

Bottom line: I could give a rats ass how he scores, but if he's putting in 30-40 a year, I'll take it!

Being in the right place at the right time is a skill that almost every great scorer has. Underrated.
