QUOTE(S) TO NOTE:

"We always talk about how we make a lot of seam plays – the Panarin plays and the Zibanejad plays. Sometimes those things don’t work out perfectly. Now they're shooting pucks more, and then those plays are working better because we're not doing them every time. We like what we're doing and the way it's going right now. As coaches, you try and show video and preach that stuff. We think it's getting through to them, and when they get results, they feel good about it"

— Gerard Gallant on the Rangers varying their offensive approach

Trouba is growing on me a little more every game....Yeah I hate the $8 million tag and all, but he's been playing the best hockey I've seen him play, and he's playing tough hockey.  Let's keep on rolling tonight!

I may be troubas #1 hater but I cant say this isnt the best ive seen him play in NY over a steady period of time now. Lets hope it stays this way.

We're starting to see some of that offensive upside with Trouba too. It's not just the heavy hitting, it's jumping into the play and making shit happen below the opposing teams goal line.

It seems like some of these guys are having a real revival and I'll be curious to see how it continues to play out. Is it a Gerrard Gallant effect? Maybe too early to say.

Are we forgetting his bonehead play in 3 v 3?  Let’s be fair. His  “best he has looked in years” is mostly because he’s been bailed out by whatever goalie was playing.

I'm gonna catch shit for this one tonight I see!!! LOL

Dude, looking forward to it!!  Text me when you're on your way, and I'll have Trouba buy you one, and have it waitin' for ya!!!

Aside from Trouba being our best big bodied defenseman by far, overlooked is Trouba's mentor effect on Miller, and hopefully soon Schneider. Guy brings a lot of "intangibles" in addition to tossing bodies, solid on the breakout, and joining the rush. How much could we have saved realistically on a more team friendly deal? We can live with his AAV.

Anyone know Leafs' depth? What's the third line like?
