This organization has been stuck in 1975 for so long, they need to get over it and take a different approach, which AV would certainly represent.

Good for him. I have a feeling he is going to do quite well in this position. They may be set in goal for a change and have some very skilled players as a starting point.

Alain Vigneault was hired as coach of the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday.

"It is an honor to be selected as the next head coach of the Flyers," Vigneault said. "The history they have established and the passionate fan base has made this a first-class franchise. I am excited to work with Chuck (Fletcher, general manager), the talented group of players and prospects coming up through the system, in order to return Philadelphia to the top of the NHL landscape."

Said Fletcher: "We are extremely excited to have Alain join this franchise and lead our team behind the bench for many years to come. He brings a tremendous amount of success over an extended period of time that will prove valuable to our team to take the next steps in returning the winning culture to the Philadelphia Flyers organization."

More to come.

Should have waited for Cooper to get fired' date=' lololol.[/quote']

He won't be fired, but several members of his staff (offensive and defensive coaches) should be fired.

But it would be great to see, lol

Really thought he'd have some longevity with us but frankly he was out coached in the playoffs, didnt seem to know how to make in game adjustments so well and the obvious knock on developing talent.

that being said he was one hell of a gentlemen and given some of the league recycles, he deserves another kick at the can.
