This doesn’t apply when you can get through two bottles of wine without a problem

Reason #3,452 why you're in "The Bar Room Brotherhood"

A bottle of wine is ~600 calories. If you're drinking one with dinner (assuming you're splitting those 2 bottles with wifey), that's like having an extra meal (and a rather large meal at that) everyday.

Switch to tequila, or weed.

Drinking is a whole other issue. I don’t drink like I used to but I haven’t seen weight loss from that 🤷🏼‍♂️. But yea I’m well aware and actively try to eat less if I know I’m gonna drink.

im taking baby steps. What it really comes down to is time to work out and partially energy. I never thought running around after a rug rat would be so exhausting.

weed? The munchies would quadruple my calorie intake 🤣

@siddious I feel you dude.  I've packed on the pounds in the last year myself.  I'll be 40 in 2 weeks.  I've never had to worry about it, I was always active with hockey and my metabolism was always high.  I haven't skated much in the last year, only recently have I gotten back out on the ice again.  Whether its that, or my metabolism catching up to me, or both.  Definitely sucks.  I've never had to care about what or when I ate.

Been trying to go on walks with the kiddo in the stroller, at least 1-2 miles a day which has been helping. But between work, helping with the kid and house stuff it’s hard enough to find time to eat, never mind healthy.

But yea it’s a kick in the junk dude…

Found an easy way to lose weight...

Step 1:  Book a tee time inland away from the water on LI

Step 2: Hit lots of shots from the side of the fairway where there's no breeze through the trees

Step 3: PROSPER...(Or fucking die!!!)

Seriously...last Thursday we went out to Willow Creek and the heat index was ...I'd say just slightly below 4000 Degrees....(at least it felt like it!)

Played pretty well, but sweated out over 8 pounds!  Fuck!!  I didn't know Jack Daniels weighed so much!!!

It was kinda cool to see 204 on the scale!!  I haven't been that weight since 3rd grade, for fuck sake!!!  LOL

I'm happy to announce I have gained all my alcohol weight back after Saturday night!  I am also again ready to take on another course...but this time somewhere close to beach sand!  😃

So I don’t remember if I had ever mentioned I was very sick back in June. Fever, chills, aches, etc. Got worse over a week to the point where the day before Father’s Day my fever spiked to nearly 104. That got me to the dr. Blood work/saliva all came back negative for everything from Covid, every testable virus, Lyme, etc. Kept getting night fevers for weeks and was super tired. Re-tested my blood just to see if anything is out of sack numbers wise and all good for the most part.

Starting in like late July I start getting random joint pain. Gets worse and worse until finally I wake up last weekend and it felt like I had a broken wrist. Went back again and re-tested blood and did a second Lyme disease test. Bingo. I have Lyme disease and likely have had it since June. First Lyme test was either a false negative or too early in the stage to pop in a test. No rash anywhere or any other obvious sign.

Anyone ever have it? I’m mostly ok but having it since June walking around wondering wtf is wrong with me kinda sucked lol. I literally felt like I was in a car accident many days but just assumed I’m old AF and have a baby kicking my ass.

You're lucky man. My buddy at work got it last summer. Same process as you, with the initial negative test. He wound up almost paralyzed and needed a spinal tap. He demanded they retest him for Lyme and "tada" it was positive.

It sounds like it's common that it doesn't show up until a week or 2 after some severe symptoms.

My sister in law has had it for years as does yet another co-worker.

They say it often creeps back up every now and then.  My sister in law swears by taking good probiotics to help ease symptoms when it comes back around.

Sadly you're stuck with it for life as of now.  There's not much information or research out there about it,  which is strange as it's rapidly becoming something many people are getting.

I had it with the same exact symptoms as you. I still stand by that I have never felt worse in my life. Did they prescribe the doxycycline or were you too far in for it to have any effect?

I swear I still have brain fog and joint pain from it but there is no definitive way to know if it is just getting older or an actual lingering symptom.

Regardless, I have heard that there are tick borne illness specialists. May be worth looking into.

Great news! I've also apparently tested positive for not only Lyme, but a second tick Bourne illness that attacks red blood cells similar to Mslaris called Babesiosis.

now I'm on 3 different antibiotics. Wild. Had to actually meet up with an infectious disease specialist. No it wasn't Fauci.
