Zuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuc
If Sharks signs a "no girlfriend"-rule with Hoffman they won this trade big time.

Zuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuc
What’s a comparable trade if the Rangers made this move I would never give up much for Hoffman at this point, maybe Vesey and a 3rd?

Hard to use this trade as a comparable to any other trade because of the circumstances.

Giacomin
What’s a comparable trade if the Rangers made this move Boedker is a speedy 3C who can win faceoffs and is disappointingly inconsistent, we don't have a comparable. The kid is a B level RHD prospect. Lindgren might be a decent compare. The highest (only?) bidder basically gave a 2nd and a 4th. Would have been a helluva a player to watch in Blue. The low cost reflects that there are no signs these childhood sweethearts are splitting.
Giacomin
Why didn?t we do this? Great moves for San Jose We're old school, uncreative, slow, encumbered and move like a snail. I dunno, maybe Ottawa got excited about Boedker? Can we do a deal with them or some other org we can take advantage of?

Giacomin
You guys listening to Patrick O'Sullivan? Good stuff. He talked to teammates about what a terrible teammate Hoffman is. Not just the wife, but that he's had problems on every team he's played on. "Not a good guy". Players told Patrick he could use their name on air, that is how much Hoffman is disliked by the entire locker room. Then when asked if Patrick had that experience with a teammate in the past. He said his entire team "hated, despised" Sean Avery. The "most selfish" human and on and on. He almost implied that he liked him most (hated him least) because when he was 19 and 20 y/o they had him rooming with Avery. He lashed into clueless mgmt who already knew about Patrick's problems and choose to room him with Avery, which was a horror show. Patrick said there were issues in every aspect on and off the ice with Avery, and it was very detrimental to the team.

I wouldn’t blame just him. The coaching staff was a joke for a couple of years there and the a lot of the players didn’t get along on those teams from what I’ve heard. They said the locker room has really turned around since then.
NYR2711
San Jose is the winner in this deal. They just dumped enough salary to bring in either Tavares or Kovalchuk.

O'Sullivan said the things that came out of Avery's mouth towards team mates was terrible (paraphrase). Not sure I care what he thinks about players. Not as if he were some top player, who did everything right or won a damn thing.
Giacomin
That's silly, He played with a lot of these guys. Knows many. Played different roles in the league, played for various teams He played with Boedker, for instance. Has first hand stuff to relay and is honest and critical. He is a good listen on occasion. Dunny
Everybody understands that Sean Avery is human garbage, right? I mean, it was fun while he was here, but that doesn't change that fact.
